hi everyone, does anyone know places where I can take my unrestricted rifle for target practice on a Crown land? I have contact service Ontario and received email stating that target shooting on a Crown land is allowed. I would like to know if anyone of you use crown land to shoot and if soo where?
Thank you.
P.s. I am located in GTA. I have called all of the shooting clubs in this part of Ontario and all are full, not accepting new members and not allowing guests on their ranges so this is the only way to go target practice for now.

You cannot target on any crown in the Ottawa jurisdiction (If you want some Maps of where you can hunt around Ottawa Contact me). We use to target shoot in Marlborough Forest, but the city shut that down, you can still hunt. It is possible that you might be able to target shoot in Limerick Forest but I am unsure, it's outside of Ottawa's influence.

Really you have to find a landowner who has a good size of land preferably with a gravel pit. Outside of Ottawa is up towards Renfrew down 41.

There is an inexpensive gun club "grenville fish and game" around Prescott just off the 416 but I believe they have a waiting list.

There is pretty much no place around Ottawa that you can target. Pretty much without private land your looking at a 2 - 3 hour drive.

Check out this thread for 'how to find land yourself': https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...19-How-To-Find-Ontario-Crown-Land-to-Shoot-On

I don't have my PAL yet, but found some spots around Ottawa (still a 2 hour drive mind you!) and scouted them before winter comes so I have some places in mind. The Ontario atlas resources are very good.
Yeah, I'll be joining a range here for sure (especially an indoor one for warmer winter shooting as @#$% as RA Centre is hyped up to be), but a quiet day out in the bush with some crown land camping mixed in is a good time.

Almost no one will tell you their good spots so they don't get ruined by the people who inevitably will so don't expect a freebie without doing the work. Nothing against individual people, just you'll find story after story about spots that have gone down the tube.

Not sure, but their membership for new mebers ( first year) is $600. I dont think this is worth it knowing they have only indoor range. Been there couple of times and did my PAL/RPAL course there.

GTA is a place where you can hardly find a club.

Try search "shooting range" or "gun club" on google maps. Not all shooting ranges are refusing new members, but usually you need a member to sponsor.

You can also join Ontario Rifle Association. We didn't have an even this year, but when we had it was wonderful. You will know people with membership of a gun club there.

Also, crown lands are generally far. If you can go that far, try PSAH or Eagle Lake Gun Club in the north.
