I've been diving into the 22lr world of fun. I have dabbled with 22 long range in the past, with low cost stuff. After learning more about it and help from friends. Good stuff has helped. So what I am looking for is... a reasonable price food for my savage mk2. So far I have found that our favorite cci sv is good but now that I am going past the orps 100 yards. I was/am very thankfull for some premium stuff. I have found the SK match to be the best and within my price range. Any help/input with be great. Again production class

My MkII also thrived on SK Rifle match BUT the combo will have its limitations beyond 250yds depending on the ambient conditions. Due to the chamber spec, my barrels would not shoot Lapua ammo well. Definitely give Lapua CenterX a quick test... yours might shoot it fine?????
With SK RM, sorting base to ogive will pay dividends. It helps for the longer distances.
I swapped to custom spec match barrels and now run Lapua CenterX in my 10/22 (easiest one to change barrels) for matches. Still practise with CCI SV and SK.
I will be testing some new barrels on my MkII by spring if all goes to plan.
Enjoy the rifle but know that cold is not your friend with non biathlon ammo..... but things settle down nicely once we get into spring.

A comparator works OK, but you'll see up to 0.0015" variance depending on the pressure you apply. Still sorts things out more accurately than picking from an unsorted box of ammo, whether or not it is worth doing I'll leave up to you.

Bullet comparator I got at a match... you can definitely use a Hrn comparator and either a caliper or a dial indicator.
Put them into batches of 1 thou... then test to see the range that shoot the same. There will be longs and shorts which can be used for sighter, foulers and practise. Unfortunately, it will be a pretty big number.
Why I moved to Lapua for competition... it ended up being similar in cost, far less work and less worry.... but I also speced a barrel that runs best with the Lapua ammo so....
