Crumlin PCC / A/R .22 conversion match

Ok I have a date set. October 28, there will be 3 squads and 4 stages starting at 10 am. I will post the practiscore link in the next couple of days. I will also post a page with the match rules, what you can shoot and so on.
The match will be around 120 rounds and $20 match fee.

sweet....anyone have any thoughts on AR 22 conversion kits. Where to buy them? Where to get extra mags?

Does the buffer and buffer spring have to be changed?

I bought a CMMG kit from Irunguns, it came with 3 30 round mags for around $300.
I didn't have to change the buffer or spring, it works right out of the box.

You don't even need a buffer/spring. The conversion kit/bolt carrier/action doesn't use use/need it.
My only concern with using a drop in conversion kit has to do with whether or not the twist rate of your .223 upper is ideal for the .22lr ammo used.

My guess is that we're probably not shooting at very long ranges...would the accuracy be that bad?

I've read that with minute of clay pigeon is about the best one can expect with most .223/556 barrels when shooting 36-40 gr. .22lr.
Certainly "good enough" I guess, but it russels my jimmies knowing my barrel isn't optimal for the boolets I'm shootin'.

I prefer a dedicated, purpose built .22lr upper... 'Not that it'll make a difference in my shooting, but I sleep better knowing my barrel is designed for .22lr.

OK everyone, here is the link

https://practiscore.com/crumlin-pcc-22lr-carbine-match/register

This is a Pistol Caliber Carbine match or a .22LR carbine.
All firearms must be semi auto (cant use pappy's old .22 bolt)

PCC calibers (9mm / .40 / .45)
You will need to be able to shoot 40 rounds without stopping, so no charging mags once the course of fire starts

The division is none. We will all be shooting the same division.
Iron sites or optics does not matter, shoot what you brung

There will be 4 stages, approx 120 rounds. Rain or shine match.
10 am start, 9:30 shooters meeting.

no, there is only 1 time slot available for this match. You need to pick one or the other. If this goes well, next time i will make two slots and have a .22LR division and a PCC division, and then you can shoot both.
