Crusader Arms new semi auto .308, the Crux

My thoughts?
Non refundable pre-sale? Available sometime after April?

Let someone else be the guinea pig and report back.

"threaded 1/2-28" come on surely that's not right, if the quality control on their description mirrors these rifles, no thanks, especially for that price...

I welcome every new semi auto .308 addition to the market but $3500 is quite a bit pricier than many of us expected for a Canadian made offering.

Agreed. Would be nice for these rifles to stay under the Tavor7 price tag however that may push a guys decision. Similar story with the 5.56 ar180 units and the X95.

With that in mind why would I spend $3500 on an unproven platform that's already based on a sketchy foundation, when I can spend the same amount of money and get a product that is likely to be much more reliable and well built, from a well-known and established Israeli competitor?

All it’s got going for it there is not being a bull pup imo, which some will value a lot and some it’s a downside.

"all items build to order, no refunds"

Sounds as if they are not very optimistic about their product.

Another concern I think is the total lack of mention in any of their ads is where they are based out of. Any legit manufacturer tends to post where they are located and how to get in touch other than by email.

I was interested in these as well, but considering they're the same price as a Tavor 7, I don't want to be a guinea pig. Also was not a fan of the 9mm carbine of theirs that I handled, just felt cheap and loose.

That being said, I have to respect a Canadian company trying to fill the gap left by ATRS Modern Hunter and BCL102, when the only other option that ticks a lot of the same boxes is an APC308 for nearly double the price, but then again is also very reliable.

So long as these are reliable, acceptably accurate (for myself that is sub 1.5MOA with decent ammo), and have good ergonomics then I could see myself getting one for sure.
