Crusader Arms / Spectre LTD. have posted the following regarding their 5.56 upper for their Crusader 9 PCC, https://www.instagram.com/p/CZFCmbpLAqE/. Presumably full rifles are to follow.

Crusader Arms on Instagram said:
The first CRUSADER 9 with the 5.56 upper in the wild! We have had so much positive feedback on this project we re excited to launch these. Please be patient with details surrounding release date as we are working diligently to get these off the line. STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!
Please note: All 5.56 uppers will be offered to preexisting Crusader 9 owners first. If interested in purchasing a Crusader 9 check your local dealer. Our current stocking dealers are:

I see some site sponsors up there, so we should be free to discuss this firearm. It looks like the Spectre's answer to the R18, with the non-reciprocating charging handle, and presumably the same higher end part's package (stock and trigger) available from the factory as the Crusader 9 when the Crusader 5.56 is available as a full rifle. Although the handguard's aesthetics may be controversial, they do separate this nicely from the vanilla MCR, which Spectre LTD. will presumably keep manufacturing alongside the Crusader. I wonder if Crusader/Spectre LTD will make a DI variant to compete with the Jard J180 and the upcoming DI BCG for the SBI Lynx? Only time will tell.

So this is what they are running with instead of hammering out uppers for the MCR platform?

I don’t get it. But hey this is their shop/their business.

I like the looks of it myself and am very interested in the 9mm version. Non-restricted, cheap to shoot, Canadian made, check a lot of boxes for me.

Don’t understand how a mag well on a dedicated 9mm lower fitted with a 5.56 upper will work, but I imagine someone has figured that out.

Im glad i keep holding out on buying a .223, it seems Canadian company's keep leap frogging each other with better and better designs.

Because their 9mm lower is nothing more than a 5.56 lower with a magwell adapter. Take magwell adapter out and put 5.56 upper on.

Yup, though they have confirmed on Instagram that the Crusader 5.56 upper will not fit the MCR or WK lower.

Production capability at Spectre seems to be VERY low.
They need to massively upgrade their factory before they do anything else.

Look at the tiny numbers of MCR rifles they've produced, compared to how many Kodiak rifles are being pumped out.
Why they would start building other rifles when they can't even built their current rifles?

Never mind spare parts for the MCR rifles. They literally have zero spare parts available.
Now again compare that with parts availability for the Kodiak rifles. It's really no comparison at all.

You'd have to say how many MCRs have been made before saying the numbers are tiny.

Regardless of production capability, this seems like a pretty cool rifle and I'd like to see details when people get them in their hands. Some don't like the aesthetics or high HOB but to be honest, I don't really care. If it's reliable and accurate like the MCR and priced similarly but has a non-reciprocating charging handle and enclosed receiver (which it does) and a bolt hold-open/release (?) it might just be the best value in Canadian-legal semis. Someone mentioned that cleaning could be an issue with the "monolithic" upper but I don't think the upper actually is monolithic? ooks to me like there's a handguard held on by bolts. Anyways, looking forward to seeing some more details. Would be rad to have something quite similar to the RS18 but less expensive. At the cost of a RS18 I'm hard-pressed not to just buy an X95.

Unless you're going to tell me they're selling on some secret black market somewhere;
It's rather obvious how few Spectre MCR rifles are being sent to dealers.

I'm ballparking that there are now 5000+ WS/WX MCR's out there.

WX-MCR is a clone made by another company.

And as I recall;
Xtreme gun was asked to make those clones because so few guns were being produced by Spectre.
