If it's a crush washer, aluminum, would the crush washers for the banjo bolt on a brake caliper work? They come in a lot of sizes and are either copper of aluminum. I'd take a sample AR-15 washer to an auto parts store and see if they can match it up.

The proper washer is made of layered aluminum sheets glued together, which allows you to peel as required to be able to index the FS correctly.

GT, is the peel washer inferior to the crush washer or the trend has moved to it?.
 
They're still available.

I use them on my Colt retro builds. I think the small details count in this industry.

... and then there's the split washers like today's lock washers.
