Crushed Brass - Norinco 1911

I get crushed cases every once and a while on my norc but only with my reloads that are little less powerful than factory. Of the 1000ish arounds of norc 45 ammo I've shot none have been crushed. Of the 1000ish rounds of reloads I've got some have been. I used trailboss max recommended load. Can't remember the grains off the top of my head. Its never caused a malfunction i have to clear though. The gun has the factory recoil spring in it.

Both of my norks do it to the brass same way except mine always eject and come straight back and hit me in the face. Usually 3 out of 100 Rds.
Have heard it could be the extractor is clocking but it's tight in there, haven't tried bending it yet.
Same results with cheap and more expensive mags.

Exact same thing happens with mine all the time, ~3 per 100, factory or handloads. It never stops the gun, but like milshooter, I can usually tell because those ones bounce off my head. I also find that when I'm shooting Winchester, the cases will have silver on one side, like its dragging metal out of the chamber with each shell. I'm new to 1911's so I'm really not sure if this is a normal thing with 1911's, just Norinco's, or a problem specific to my particular gun.

Just sorted one Norc 1911 9mm today. Would get the odd stovepipe. Bent the extractor just a little tighter.
Problem solved. Cases come out nice and round without a scratch and drop in a nice little pile 6 feet away just behind me.
Careful on bending the extractor though. Too tight is no good either and it's easy to break them.
