CSA 5.56 sighting

Correct me if I am wrong please. I am planning to use an AR-15 25 meter zeroing target to sight my CSA. That will make it zero at 300 meters.

1. move rear sight to position 3
2. sight in at 25 meters at that target.

Theoretically, it should be zeroed at all ranges on the rear sight now. So, notch at 1 will give me proper zero at 100 meters?

Definitely tagged for interest. I want to see responses on this one too. The thing here is the height of the front post on a VZ58, etc. Isn't that target for a 300 meter zero?

It is for 300 meters. That's why I am thinking to move slider to "3" and sight in for 25. That will give me zero at 300

Something to consider is that height of the line of sight above the bore axis will affect zeroing. A target scaled for an AR may not work with a different rifle.
In addition, the only way to precisely zero a rifle for 300m is to shoot it at 300m. Anything else is going to be an approximation.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I have new sights coming for mine and will have to go through the zeroing procedure again. I am also assuming that we are talking about the non-restricted 18.5" version of the VZ58 here too. Also, what bullet weight are we talking about here?

So, it's better to sight it in at the actual distance rather then use scaled targets, or at least use it as a reference and the use the leal distance for precise calibrating
