A month or so back I asked a question to which nobody could provide an exact example.

The CSA VZ.58 Sporter is tapped for a factory side plate and mount. The side plate also happens to almost fit an SVD POSP.
I took the side plate and POSP to a machine shop and had a channel milled into the plate to allow for the POSP nub to side into.

Why did I do this?

Cause someday you must snipe ze chechen rebel with chin weld.

8x42 POSP slides on front to back.

And other days you want chest weld for the factory side mount/Meprolight and drum mag, Call of Duty.
Sides on back to front.

Meprolight sits a wee bit high but it was the only thing I had hanging around for an example.

You did it wrong. The groove has to run from the back towards the front, and stop near the end without going right through.. This way that little knob on the scope mount will press against the plate during recoil. In your case the scope will move forward, loose zero and eventually fall off no matter how tight you put it on.

Dmitry is right, your scope will fall off when you shoot it, but it looks great. :)

You could have done it like this.

It was tested prior to and after the milling process using measured hydrolic force and impact force. The scope doesn't move.
If I back off the tension nut one notch it still locks up but can be forced off.

This was done for shyts & giggles anyways, this is purely an iron sights and drum mag gun for fun with my southern friends.

I told ya so :p
Sorry just had to say it.
Next time just let me touch your toyz u big tease ;)
All joking a side. There is a way to correct the problem. It involves a roll pin to be drilled into the scope mount and matched up to a grove that you will mil into the mount. Therefor when you slide it into that channel the roll pin will stop the mount from proceeding forward and also will always allow you to return to zero cause it will provide you with a stop reference point.
Now come on...
Where's the luv u big ball of flames u ;)
