just curious what opinions are on these. local store told me they shoot way better than cz 858, which i had before and admittedly was not very impressive in the accuracy dept. is this true?

I can't imagine the accuracy would be better than a 858. Both use aftermarket barrels for the Canadian market.

What are you expecting? I could see 3 moa being reasonable for the caliber / type of rifle.

The .223 CSA is a bit more accurate than the CZ 7.62x39 as long as you're using better ammunition. With a scope its even better. 2.5moa is pretty reasonable for the .223 Vz 58. I could get the occasional 2" group with my .223 Vz 58 but its for sure a 2.5moa. I haven't ever compared the accuracy of the CZ to the CSA in 7.62x39 so I don't know if one shoots better than the other.

The 12 inch Vz I had was more accurate than my old AK by a good margin, never had any issues with it (except the stupid 5 round mags), but then I carried the AK in the bush and never used the Vz on a square range, so I was more concerned with getting good hits than making small holes.

i could live with 2.5 at 100 with surplus ammo. i'm not surprised that they guy is lying, he also said he wasn't carrying walther ppq or fn 45 because they were low quality.

Cant help with a CZ advice but CSA VZ-58 easy to get chromed lined. Finnish looks like new after 2000+ rounds and 5 year warrenty? Shoots 3" groups with norinco and 5 " with surplus....

You could always get a CZ then pay an extra 300 for a parts kit if money isnt and factor. If it wasent for me I would have both, but it is.

I do have some CZ parts and they seem the same as the VZ so.... Anyone saying others wise is probably BS'ing. Finnish is different tho, i dont like it on the CZ.

i love my VZ and couldn't even estimate how many times its seen the range....Not sure what will replace it.

This gun is not for precision, but it is amazingly fun the take the gong out and test your skills on the irons all day long.
Probably shoot this gun the most out of all of them.
Tried it with a red dot, went back to the irons. Bought the scope mount side rail from CSA, went back the the irons.

I found that ammo selection is everything. shooting cheap surplus got me 3-4" patterns, mfs got me >3", and federal got me ~2". i suspect that handloads would go a long way in the 58.
