CSA VZ58 223 + B&T AR Mag adapter

Hi all, I am thinking of having a CSA VZ58 in 223 install a magwell that can accept AR15 magazines. I know that there is a polymer version but I personally do not like plastic that much. I know that there is a B%T AR magazine adapter for 7.62x39 version and it is metal.

My question is, are the XCR 7.62x39 magazine the same specs as normal 223 magazines?

Further, could a CSA vz58 in .223 accept the B&T magwell and accept AR mags?

I have the VZ 58 in .223 and I was on the phone with Wolverine Supplies about installing a B&T AG CZ 858 AR15 Magwell Adapter, On there sight is says it will not fit the .223 but I was told thats only because there will need to be some machining "This adapter requires permanent weapon modification" its fine with me its the reason i got this in the .223 so il be sending mine to them to have the mod done.....maybe

Last week I tried inserting my 10 round LAR .223 mag into my 7.62X39 B&T adapter mounted on my CZ858. Magazines would not remain engaged (i.e. magazine catch did not hold magazine in place).
Was in a hurry to get to an appointment - so didn't spend the time to figure out why. May get some time this weekend to figure out the issue. Note - Wolverine site clearly states that adapter was specifically designed for 10 round Robinson Armament Pistol Magazines.

I'm sure someone with a little knowledge could provide you with a schematic. C'mon CGNers- if the market won't provide us with these, let's find a way to do this ourselves.......

yep thats what ive had to to do, i don't want any permanent changes so ive ordered plastic one im sure some day a metal one will come out, until than PLASTIC
 
Has anyone had issues with LAR mags only allowing the bolt to be retracted about an inch or so? I tried 3 different mags (empty) and they would not allow the bolt to be pulled back more than an inch. Tried a no name steel AR mag and no problem. If I push down the follower I can pull it back... But otherwise it comes to a hard stop. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Problem Solved I think - All the LAR mags I originally tried were brand new (as was the AR mag) so I pulled the rounds out of an older mag and after a couple of tries it seems the older LAR mag works ok... it will let me retract the bolt fully while empty. I guess the LAR mags either due to the coating or a really stiff spring need to be conditioned well before using in the VZ.. none of the mags were issues in my SU16.
