I was looking at the Norinco CQ-A1 as my first rifle, but thought it might be worth while to get a non-restricted for flexibility.

Is the CSA vz58 5.56mm with 19" barrel in stock anywhere? SFRC is sold out, and I don't know which other sponsors carry CSA. I checked Wolverine and Wanstalls.

Also does anyone have any comments on the vz58? I have searched and there's less talk about it than other rifles. Is the AR Magwell adapter Gen II reliable?

Absolutly reliable ... Love my VZ sporter in 556, G2 magwell adapter dosnt fit perfeclty tight but runs flawlessly. Ive putt about 200 rounds down the pipe of mine with out a single jam or failure. I run 55gr FMJ american eagle. Not an intense stress test by any means but im convinced.

Only thing i dont like about the Vz's is that they were never designed for optics, and all the solutions are half ass at best !

if you dont mind open sights there pretty hard to pick apart. Accuracy is decent out to 300 , Ive put rounds on iron out to 600 incosistantly. Put led out there it will hit its mark.

it's lose but runs flawlessly? Is there a chance it could fall off during use?[/QUote

Because the way its designed i think you would have to fall and jar you mag backwards to break it off, and that is highly unlikely because of the way its pinned. I think if you were running and fell forward it would be the hardest way to break it. The way the back of the magwell is supported against the lower part of the action, Its designed to take impact from forward direction. I wouldnt worry about it... I dont.

For it to actually fall off during use is pretty much impossible.
