Anyone know why the bolts are different on my two VZ58's? I'm assuming they figured out how to make them with less material and still work the same but I'm curious all the same.

Guess which one is giving me grief.

I had a vz58 bolt break on a relatively new gun, probably less than 750 rounds. A piece of metal sheared off the bolt face. I chalked it up to the fact that I was putting a round into the chamber and putting a full mag in. Who knows? Haven't had an issue since, still makes me wonder though.

Theres no way that would cause is to break....well at least not to my knowledge and I do this all the time with mine

That's what I thought too. The gun was quite new at the time, maybe a lot less than 750 round's cause I was super ticked I had to send back a gun I just got. Took at least 3 or 4 months to get fixed on warranty as well. I'm still too scared to top off the chamber tho lol.

The one on the right?

The one with less material (right)

You would think so. But it's not. The one with more material. I'm quite confident it's the extractor but I haven't broken it down completely to confirm 100%. 90% of the time it won't extract the spent round and then it tries to force the new round into an already full chamber (which doesn't work too well).
