These are extremely loud, accurate and fun. Will almost guarantee the blasts will clear any range that you are shooting at. Makes the 18.5" non-restricted VZ-58 sound like a 22LR in comparison. Very fun little gun in a fairly large calibre for the overall size.

I have an original CZ858 and absolutely love the firearm. I've seen the VZ58 compacts in the past but they are not very common, hence the price I suppose.

but boy did it ever thump yer skull with big concussion...seriously...I would have a headache for a day later after the range..

Why is this not a pistol? It is a genuine question. More than often, the rationale behind our laws is not so rational. Why is a Ruger 10/22 Charger a pistol and this is not? It has a pistol length barrel, pistol grip, and James Bond shoots it accurately one handed. Wouldn't it just be a matter of removing the folding stock to make it a pistol?

Rcmp don't want us using 10 round pistol mags in our vz's so there will be no pistol vz58.

I had one of these... for about a week. These rifles will loosen your fillings from your teeth. Cool factor is high, but blasting this at a range will make others hate you.

And they don't want us using 25 round rimfire mags in our 10/22 rifles therefore in that case, yes, it is a pistol. But when the same thing happens to a vz, then no, it cannot be a pistol.
