so theres a vz58 that i shot that had less then 20 rounds through it , it had to be warranty repaired due to a "oversized gas piston" before i shot it? first two times i took it out it shot fine. tonight i took it out and tonight it felt a bit more rough then usual. also my telescopic stock is loose and also that little piece between the stock and receiver is a bit loose. what could the cause of that be?

keep in mind the first two times i took it out it ran fine and stock was on tight. i am shooting new production barnaul 7.62x39. ammo does not show any big signs of overpressure ( occasional flat primer but thats it)

this is the piece in question.

Would too much oil cause this problem?

shot mine loose twice
shot the castle nut loose no end of times
and the piece that the castle nut tightens upto (i dont know what its called)

i loctited it all and never looked back since

oh there is a small nut and bolt at the other end of the stock(not in your photo)
i lost that also one day

Tighten the castle nut.

so it looks like my castle nut is loose already, i tried twisting the stock before i tightened the nut but the stock wouldnt line up with the reciever. i take it the stock is supposed to stay a bit loose before you tighten the nut and once you tighten it the stock is secure?

I loosened the tube about 3/4 of a turn and then brought the castle nut in tight. That worked for me. I wouldn't use any thread locker either.

ah ok that sounds about right. for the adapter thats in between the reciever and the stock, what do i do for that since its also a bit loose?

if its the adaptor between the stock and receiver you are referring to, you will have to remove the "buffer" tube and tighten the screw in the middle that secures the adaptor to the receiver.

I had the same problem with my x39 Vz.58 -- loose castle nut and tube. Finally I bought another nut (the ones that come stock are a piece of garbage by CSA's own admission) and Loctite-d/tightened the thing to hell. It's been tight ever since.

Does this thing take standard ar stocks? Where can i get a good castle nut and what brand?

Got it ill be sure to take it apart and tighten it.

I have this issue and assume I have to loosen the castle nut to start? Then can I take off the buffer tube to get at the screw?

CSA vz58 loose stock - Fixed!

It didn't take a two foot flat head driver as the screw to the receiver was a hex screw (6mm0. Glad I took it all apart as there was massive carbon and rusty oil build up at the connections. However, the castle nut needs a special wrench right? I hand tightened but the slider wouldn't hold until I flipped it over and used a mallet and screwdriver to tap it tight. Yes I used the underside so the wear won't show - much lol.
