CSA Warranty Issues, Are they Still Happening?

I was thinking about a CSA VZ 58, in NR with the nice chrome barrel... but I hear a lot of people (online and in person) have had problems with the rifles they've bought within the last 2-3 years... Had to send them for warranty, etc.

Has this overall issue been fixed, or are they still having damage/repair issues?

My 2014 has been Excellent. Shoots good, no problems so far!

The problem run of rifles were stamped '13 (meaning made in 2013) all others I have had zero problems with

Mostly its the .556 rifles I seen that had issues. 7.62 should in theory be less likely to have issues. My old VZ 7.62 worked fine.

Mine is in 5.56 and as I said had been great so far. This spring will be 3 years that I have had it. Its non lined as I am not shooting corrosive so that is what I wanted, and has been a solid rifle. I have a small contact mark on the bolt from the gas system but no cracks, extraction issues,over-gassing or anything.

My '13 18.6" in 7.62 I bought new hasn't had a flick. I have an 11.8" in 7.62 as well, but I bought it used so I'm unsure of the year. No issues there either.

Like 'em so much I just got a 7.5" in 7.62!

Mine is a 556 and I had to send it for warranty because of a few FTE and one FTF.

mine has been perfectly fine. close to 1k rounds

I had issues with mine (a recent purchase) which is likely a 2015 - will confirm when I get it back. It's been about 3-3.5 months now.

With the bolt carrier, there was a fairly sizable space that I could move that staple around in probably 3-4mm deep. As for the barrel, looks as though the gouge happened when the front sight base was pressed on which was then painted over. I suspect the defect in the bolt carrier was apparent during mfg but painted over as well.

North Sylva wasn't exactly helpful and the retailer kind of left me hanging until I started complaining - this has kind of soured me on the whole series of rifle.
