CSA's in .223

I've put about 1500rds through my 5.56 CSA and I love it. Added olive drab pistol grip, buttstock and forestock from FAB, threw on an aimpoint ML3. I did break off the tip of a firing pin (firing winchester 45gr hp ammo, I think I may have punched through a primer?) but I let wolverine know and they promptly shipped me a new one. When I had this rifle scoped with an old 3-9 burris fullfield I, I had some difficulty with groupings but managed a few 2 inch groupings

I just got a 11.8 in 223 from wolverine for 750.

I said no to 7.62 because you have to be crazy to use corrossive ammo in a $800 rifle. None corrosive ammo 7.62x39 cost more then American eagle tactical ammo.

I still want a 7.5 version in 7.62 because that caliber is knot effected by shorter berrel like 5.56.

Your crazy not to shoot corrosive ammo... Its dirt cheap and IT DOES NOT HURT YOUR RIFLE its a myth.. militarys have been shooting it for over 100 years, with proper cleaning you will have no problems .. My non chrome lined CZ858 has around 4000 rounds through it, all was surplus corrosive and my bore is perfect like a mirror no pitting at all i can sill pop clay pidgons at 100m all day long .. i can clean the gun in 5 min after im done shooting . The only thing i ever used for cleaning is Ballistol and wd40, no hot water no windex..

I've been wondering about the condition of these rifles on the frontline. I'm sure the soldiers didn't always have the fancy solvents and time to regularly clean their non-chromed lined rifles like us "sport shooters".
These same rifles are now being sold as surplus/refurbs and they don't seem worse for the wear...or am I missing something?
Personally, I plan on shooting corrosive ammo and at the end of my session I'll shoot off a box of non-corrosive. Hopefully this practice will burn off some of the corrosive "salts" until I get home and perform a more detailed cleaning.

I have seen this mentioned on here previous, but I am not sure that shooting non-corrosive ammo will actually do anything. If the corrosive salts don't burn off from shooting corrosive ammo, I am not sure shooting non corrosive ammo is actually going to help.

AKs fair very well with corrosive ammo.. the only AKs that are not chrome lined are the Yugo made ones .. just clean it within 12 hours and you will be fine ..
