CSM - Nice Little Recoil Pad

I have been reworking this M96 I picked up a few months ago. The recoil pad that came with it looked like the sole of someone's sandal, with the worst mounting job I have ever seen. And the pad just did not match the rifle. A couple of days ago I got my hands on a CSM pad....

...it cut and ground well and the spacing on the screw holes was an exact match to the M96...it is 'sticky' which some may not want, but I like. And I think that it matches the rifle really well. I'm very pleased...

...sure...i got it from brownells...no restrictions on pads...

it supposedly has a steel plate embedded too so i was a bit concerned grinding it with the m96's skinny stock, but i never found it

the centre of the pad does not have support so has some give...but i'm not expecting much recoil from a standard 9.3x57 that i'm not used to from bigger calibres

i'd have bought it in canada but i didn't find it offered anywhere
