Excuse my ignorance, but wasn't bill C42 supposed to protect us from reclassification, or was that just on firearms and not on magazines?
They are testing the waters with the Liberals
Rest assured they know what they are preparing us for
They need to be stripped of their positions and be disbanded and even criminalized for some of their actions
fulll on disarmement as you put it will NEVER happen in Canada OR the US,,simply because it IMPOSSIBLE,no gun owners these days will EVER give up their firearms, and considering the government and the RCMP have no clue where 95% of firearms are in the country, sure they know who's got a license,,but no idea how many firearms they own,and where they are,not to mention all the illegal guns they will never get their hands on,,so disarmement is just a Liberal and RCMP pipe dream, that will NEVER happen, and they know full well that they wouldn't even acheive 5% compliance,it's just not going to happen in the times we live in,they do all these stupid laws just to make it seem like they are doing something for the public safety,,but in reality they dont do anything to contribute to public safety, their agenda is bullying and trying to get away with bull#### charges on gun owners, which by the way they are LOOSING more and more,so saying full disarmement is possible is just making gun owners feel uncomfortable for nothing, realize,,this isn't 1940's Germany or Russia..
Don't you think our Australian cousins thought the same thing. Disarmament is possible, sure not ever single firearm would be absent, but all legal civilian ownership could be at risk. Yes they will never get rid of all the firearms, but stopping the legal use of firearms would be a massive part because only serious criminals would then continue to use their firearms on a regular basis. I believe many would hang on to a unregistered rifle or shotgun for a just in case moment or susitenance hunting..., but regular use would be almost non-existent (except for the most rural locations).
If we don't get united and on board with fighting this liberal way of thinking then we may not be able to continue our way of life and our firearms unlike the Australian's would be confiscated w/o financial compensation.
What do you think would happen if our government stated any civilian found in non-compliance regarding the illegal ownership of firearms would be liable for years in prison? Also if you think our boys in blue don't know where many of the firearms are you're kidding yourself, all they would have to do is knock on the doors of anyone with a PAL and go from there (that would likely cover 75%+ as a guesstimate?).
Sure some would not comply or only partially comply by holding back one or more unregistered firearms by hiding it/them, but to think that 95% would risk losing prison time and all that implies is crazy.
While I've been a shooter all my life and am trying to remain positive that our shooting sports/life styles etc. will not be taken from us I worry because we are not yet united and working together in large enough numbers to make a significant difference. Saying that with the words of late from the CSSA and business' like Wolverine as one example I am hopeful Canada will not go the way of Australia.
We all must step up and commit a little time (in the form of letter writing to our politicians etc.) and/or funds ($ to CSSA...?) to assist in the fight to keep our Canadian way of life before it's to late. While what happened to Australia's shooting community is tragic hopefully it can serve as an example to unite Canada's shooting community to put each others differences aside and stop any further losses to our lifestyle...
Cheers D
The Government is committed to putting decision-making authority about weapons classification back into the hands of
police, not politicians. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is responsible for the technical determination of the
classification of firearms in accordance with the criteria stipulated by Parliament in the Criminal Code.
We have no support from the Libs. The RCMP have all the power with no oversight.

your boys in blue would stop knocking down doors after the first unfortunate incident,,also, you might THINK Austrailians gave up their guns, but let me assure you from what friends of mine who live there tell me,that's far from the case,as for your reference to your thought that citizens would risk jail time by not turning their guns simply because the government tells them to,that's also wrong,it was tried before with the Long Gun Registry, the RCMP was furious that some many people were not obeying them, they kept threatening jail time, federal offense and anything else they could think of to get people to comply to their law,but it had absolutely no effect, they never managed more than 15% registration compliance, and that sir,is from somebody who ACTUALLY worked there, you seriously underestimate the will power of canadian gun owners if you beleive they would get any more compliance TODAY,it would actualy be LESS,the millions of guns in Canada are going nowhere, and since Canada is 95% country, those guns will be enjoyed for years to come, and THAT is the Liberal nightmare..
Has this even been brought to court yet? I have joined the Cssa and ccfr for the support.
