Curiosity ? on wrong rifle purchase.

I think alot of people like "Building the ultimate rifle" or whatever, and then find its alot of work or expense to shoot it? Dont shoot it as much as they hoped?

Its the same with car or bike people, half of them spend years fixing up and building, but when its done they are quickly bored of the project.

I'm pretty sure your right. Its a consumer society;
Having said that there is a lot to be said for guys that go the whole hog, spend thousands of dollars and get it right first time;
Having said that there is a lot to be said for the guys that like to start small and build up as they go, taking longer to get it right, but perhaps eventually having a little personal pride in where they got at the end.
Takes all kinds to make the world go around. And best thing is you don't have to like them all! :D

The only time I have ever sold off a custom gun (2x in my life) was when I compromised on the build somewhere usually at the advice of someone else. For instance, I built a beautiful .308 Win that I wanted to build as an LTR - I let myself get talked into not buying a fluted barrel and having the barrel cut at 24" vice the 20" that I originally wanted. The second was a .221 FB that I had built but I used the wrong action (Rem 700 vice CZ527) The lessons that I learned were pretty cheap losses but it did teach me never to compromise on what I wanted because in the end I would always regret not having the rifle built the way I originally desired it to be. I have a kick ass 338 LM I have only fired it 50 times or so but each time I pull the trigger it brings a smile to my face. I don't compete with it and I haven't even taken it past 300m yet but I am not ever planning on getting rid of it because it is exactly the way I want it.

I don't think they inlet for Savage actually. At least they didn't when I asked before I bought my SSS stock that took 8-9 months to arrive.

MagnumPeanut,

I contacted Robertson Stocks. They will inlet for a savage. Model dependant, they may require your barrelled action to setup their CNC. But as far as Savage actions are concerned it all sounds good to go. :rockOn:
