1st off I love the gun. The finish and fit is great, except for where the loading lever is attached to the ram. This piece is pretty much not finished. I tried blueing it but it won't take the blue. Painted it black which looked good but the paint starts coming off as the lever is worked. I've seen many with this minor problem, so I'm wondering if someone here has found a solution. Maybe someting better than Hoppes gun blue. Colour case hardening is out of the question I suppose.
Curious about the pietta 1851 Navy.
