Curious girl

Great thread Titch and awesome pictures , Thanks for sharing.
Sure brought back a lot of memories from our Coyote hunting days on the farm south of Saskatoon.
We did a lot of hiking and snowshoeing before the days of the snowmobile and like you, in the cold and wind..

A slip knot around the top of their mouth behind some teeth, they drag pretty good.Shorten your rope. You can fasten the rope to a piece of dowel for something to get your hand around.Fits in ur pocket.

Yep, around the mouth or head is best. Not only are you going with the fur, the legs won't get caught on stuff as much as with that rear foot drag. Also works good on deer, gives them a bit more of a torpedo shape. :)

My shooting partner from last year says that we were dragging them head first last year. Dont remember that.

If I can find a cheap enough sled on one of the used sites from around here, I might pick one up to try out.

Kind of kicking myself in the azz because yesterday was a real nice day to go out shooting and was even up early for it, but I just couldnt find the energy to pull myself out of bed for it. Plus I would of been by myself so I didnt have anyone waiting for me to pick them up. arg

Before we know it this coyote season is going to be done. Might be able to go out this week or for sure on the weekend as its lookin nice out for it

I also picked up some new custom calls I want to check out on these guys

Try peavy mart...bought a calving sled there a few years back...sides are about 6 inches high...holds 4 Yotes no problem and is light to pull

Squeeze the pee out (or if its cold enough wait for it to freeze). Tie a piece of paracord/rope/shoelace/ductape from front to back leg each side. Then you can either throw it over your back like a rifle sling or wear it like a backpack. Or you can throw it over your gunstock and put the gun over your shoulder. Provided it isn't full of fleas. ;)

I'd recommend a crazy carpet, they roll up easily and cost like $5 at Walmart. Haven't experimented with attaching a rope to one, but I doubt duct tape can't fix it.

Get a tarp grommet kit and install 3 or 4 across the front and then run them 1' or 1.1/2' apart down the sides. Lots of flexibility in lashing things on and rigging drags. Carry it rolled up and lashed to your pack or hunting bag, or just across your back with a rope through it . This slides my deer easily across snow, grass, and rocks.

Regards,
Joel

What happens when you knock down a few of em? lol :p

This last weekend I put the rope in their mouth and pulled them head first. It works, but could be better. Only thing that sucks was the deep snow, but once you get out of the low ground it aint bad.
