I recently sold some federal blue box ammo to a guy for a real good price. I had sold the gun and had no use for the ammo. Essentially, I made absolutely no money on the deal, it covered my gas to meet the guy. My theory was, I don't need the stuff, someone else does, here's a good option. I got home, and went back on the EE and before I even got home the guy re-posted the ammo for more than it was even worth at a store.

I had a good chuckle thinking to myself "really?".

He purchased the stuff off of me, its his now, he can do what he wants with it - that's my theory for the most part - but part of me was racking the brain in a sense that, is this the way people use the EE forum - to try and hose other members?

Thoughts?

You are a good man. We are all in this together. I traded 38 spcl +P hollow points for target 9mm bullet for bullet. 38 +P is noticeably more expensive so the guy got a good deal.

On the the other side, there is nothing wrong with making a few bucks. I have bought guns with the intention on selling it here for a few bucks. I don't understand the guys trying to sell their type 81 for $1500-2000. That one just confuses me

He did not hose you... he met your price. As you said, he owns it now, what he does with it is his prerogative. Are you just upset because you let it go too cheaply? This scenario has happened to me many times... no big deal. It would be different if he had cried poor and said he needed it to feed his family and you cut your price and then he turned around and resold at price-gouge rates... I've have had that happen too. There are also times where guys like to play with and flip rifles and gear, or where the purchase was a impulse buy or plans changed and they resell... it is all fair. When I catch a guy in a lie during a deal, they go on the ignore list and I never deal with them again...

I don't think its how the EE is, Just some people. Go on any marketplace and see the people wanting things for cheap, or free. You know they don't really need it. They just do it to make a buck. People buy cheap small engine equipment, to do a carb clean and flip for 2x more. I seen people on clean up day, go around picking up stuff that they can sell.

Its not hosing. You offered your goods at X value, as you valued them. He paid your price you thought was fair. Both parties were happy

So it shouldnt bother you what he does with them. If you are unhappy, next time price your goods accordingly

Pretty normal

Try getting a table at a show some time to see it in super speed

My best one was a 10$ knife I put 5$ on and the guy ran back to his table and put $40 on it.

I hope it stays in his "collection" forever :)

Sold a Shiloh Sharps here, I priced it very well ( low). Not trying to get last nickel. He resold it here as well. No problem here, but does make the buy it when you see it, or it’s gone. Better than the guy with rebump for year and a half. JMHO

Don't be a fool and you'll be ok.

There is a mob of socialists on CGN who want there to be many more EE rules, including one that forbids anyone profitting from a sale. So if you bought it for $1 and it's now worth $100, you sell it for $1 cuz we need to support each other and it's no fair otherwise.

Then there are the buyers who respond to WTS posts and create WTB posts for things that they desperately "need" for their collection and hence expect CGN "friend" prices. Get duped by them and you'll see it flipped the next day for its real value.

Fool me once........

I sold a firearm to a guy one time and he did the same thing your guy did. It really ticked me off because he told me he was getting into skeet shooting and we talked about how it would be good for that.

My opinion is it speaks to their character.

No worst than buying a 600K house, inject 100K of renos, and sell it for 875K.
If it shock you, well it dont shock me, same for the ammo, this guy went for the profit, i see nothing reprehensible here...

How about when you sell a 'buddy' an item at a 'friend' price, as they say they really wanted it..... then they turn around and sell the item for more money. Good times..... got that t-shirt a couple times.

When I decide to sell, I figure out what it is worth to me and sell. After it is gone, I could care less what happened to it.

Who cares. You did what you wanted with it while it was yours. He's doing what he wants with it while it's his. It that simple.

He can sell whatever he wants.

Buying ammo and trying to sell at higher than store bought, isn't a real great business plan though...:)
