curious to what people think about re-selling stuff on EE

Most flippers are easy to spot they try to low ball you bad .the only time I ever got a bit ticked off was when I gave a guy a decent price on a gun a bit lower than my asking price and when he had a gun that I was interested in he refused to budge on his price even a nickel

You are a good man. We are all in this together. I traded 38 spcl +P hollow points for target 9mm bullet for bullet. 38 +P is noticeably more expensive so the guy got a good deal.

On the the other side, there is nothing wrong with making a few bucks. I have bought guns with the intention on selling it here for a few bucks. I don't understand the guys trying to sell their type 81 for $1500-2000. That one just confuses me

Did you see those BRS 99s for 4000$ and 4500$ ?

You win some, you lose some.
Tally up at the end of the year and iff'in yer up a case oh reebs, life t'ain't that bad.

I met a fellow whom had to have this SxS I had posted on'ear ah cootns ages ago.
Met him an hour out of my way.
Ohhhhh the drama.
His missed his cue, Hollywood was his destination.
Me ears gartzs warm, terribly warm.

It's folks like these that ruin it for the next bunch.

He did not hose you... he met your price. As you said, he owns it now, what he does with it is his prerogative. Are you just upset because you let it go too cheaply? This scenario has happened to me many times... no big deal. It would be different if he had cried poor and said he needed it to feed his family and you cut your price and then he turned around and resold at price-gouge rates... I've have had that happen too. There are also times where guys like to play with and flip rifles and gear, or where the purchase was a impulse buy or plans changed and they resell... it is all fair. When I catch a guy in a lie during a deal, they go on the ignore list and I never deal with them again...

I agree well said.

I recently sold some federal blue box ammo to a guy for a real good price. I had sold the gun and had no use for the ammo. Essentially, I made absolutely no money on the deal, it covered my gas to meet the guy. My theory was, I don't need the stuff, someone else does, here's a good option. I got home, and went back on the EE and before I even got home the guy re-posted the ammo for more than it was even worth at a store.

I had a good chuckle thinking to myself "really?".

He purchased the stuff off of me, its his now, he can do what he wants with it - that's my theory for the most part - but part of me was racking the brain in a sense that, is this the way people use the EE forum - to try and hose other members?

Thoughts?

A wise man once said “ He purchased the stuff off of me, its his now, he can do what he wants with it.”

I’m trying to recall who said it now....

Oh well. Whoever it was, it was the smartest thing they said that day.

I would only be offended by that if the buyer fed me a sob story and haggled the price down and then tried to flip it for profit.....if you got your asking price, then it was still a fair transaction for yourself

growing up one neighbour haggled another neighbour on his car, and the next day was advertising it for several thousand above the original asking price....that created a feud that lasted for 15+ years, good entertainment at times lol

Nothing wrong with it In my opinion. I've done a whole lot impulse buys only to change my mind within a short time. On some I made a profit and some i lost several hundred dollars. Free market and one can do what ever he wants. In saying that i dislike the idea of people lying and making up stories in order to get a better deal.

Not exactly good etiquette but its not against the rules or illegal. I just wouldn't deal with the guy again.

Ya its pretty easy to sniff them out after a while. It sure seems like I've had a few of the same guys throwing lowballs at me regardless of what I was selling. Resellers no doubt.

Not a flipper. If it is something that sits for a while with no use or don't see myself using, it gets sold. That goes for anything I own.

This is something I need to learn. I end up sitting on all sorts of stray items that someone probably wants. From Auto parts and bike parts and components.

i was wondering if i hit your ignore list lol ...

I used to buy and sell firearms for fun and profit. I buy something worth about 400 guy wants 250 locally I sell it here for 350. First guy is happy he got his deal, I am happy I made 100$ guy I sold it to he is happy he got a good deal to. Everybody is happy.

they say cash is king but in reality knowledge is king, cash comes next.

thats why i make it a point of researching the market value prior to listing cos i dont want to feel like i ripped myself off.

A large portion on the EE are guys very regularly selling guns. I doubt there doing the Lords work on there. World needs to go round. Price anything below market value being a gun, car, house and you have a very good chance someone is buying it just because they realize it’s below value and they intend to make some cash. Free market, love it
