curious to what people think about re-selling stuff on EE

I saw that with a bass guitar last week on Craiglsit. Guy in Mission is selling one for a fair price and next week the same instrument is for sale by someone in Langley for $200 more using the exact same description and photo too!

Thoughts?

A fool and his money are soon parted..PT Barnum.

You sold it , got paid for the goods listed as advertised .

Guy re-sells it to make a profit , isnt that called free market enterprise ?

I sold a gun once and paid for shipping cause he was a pensioner and it was for his grandson (I fell for the line)

Long story short he listed same gun two days after it was delivered in AO for the money he beat me up on it.

I place him on ignore here and on AO...it was much easier that having to read posts by the flake.

Oh and a lesson learned.

Ive bought many guns here and sold them here too. I like trying different guns and cant afford to keep them all.
I sold a rifle on gun post and saw it posted i
Inside a week for more money. I was glad I sold it instead of holding out for a $100. Could have taken months to sell that way.

My thoughts - you willingly sold the goods. Nobody forced you. You have no reason to be miffed.

If you fell for a sob story and did something that you now regret - you have no reason to be miffed, except at yourself.

Next time, be sure that you are happy with your end of the deal before closing. Don't let yourself be manipulated.

I've sold some for less than I was asking and they end up being relisted for more .... but I've also bought some and sold for more than I paid.
That's just the way it goes, in the end it balances out.

I remember one time selling a like new 28 gauge to a fellow who I thought wanted it for his own use.Sold it to him for cost.Next thing I knew , he had sold it for a quick profit .It was his, so he can do what he wants. However, if I had known this was his plan all along I would not of sold it to him or if I did ,he would have paid more.LOL

I don't think its how the EE is, Just some people. Go on any marketplace and see the people wanting things for cheap, or free. You know they don't really need it. They just do it to make a buck. People buy cheap small engine equipment, to do a carb clean and flip for 2x more. I seen people on clean up day, go around picking up stuff that they can sell.

I got nothing against the guy who buys a snowblower for $40 because "it won't start". He cleans the ethanol gas junk out of the carb and resells for a profit. He is adding value.

The instant flippers are slimy, especially when they give a sob story. I think it's slimy, but it is their right to do what they want with their property. No one forced the buyer to sell cheap.

You are a good man. We are all in this together. I traded 38 spcl +P hollow points for target 9mm bullet for bullet. 38 +P is noticeably more expensive so the guy got a good deal.

On the the other side, there is nothing wrong with making a few bucks. I have bought guns with the intention on selling it here for a few bucks. I don't understand the guys trying to sell their type 81 for $1500-2000. That one just confuses me

wait and $2000 will be a very god price ... look up valmet ... im not saying t81 are valmet just look the curb ...

I saved up for when I was younger and all I really wanted was a antique Colt SAA.

After finding an absolute gem at a gun show, I plead my case and was able to get it for 3100 if I recall correctly. It was less then he was asking but I was very sincere and he knew it was going to a good home and someone who’d appreciate it.

I owned for 4-5 years atleast. I loved that handgun. But it also turned into a safe queen.

I wanted a change so sold it dingus, for 2500 cash and a $1800 webley. A fair deal! I was happy! I knew it was in superb condition and the market was pretty hot for them. Most going for 4-5k.

Fast forward alittle in time. Maybe a month or two. And I noticed he posted it back for sale, with a installed 44 spl barrel and cylinder I had got for it aswell. I think he had it for 7500 and it was sold quickly. What I thought was just a nice gun, turned out to be one of the nicest condition colts he had come across. And was priced as such.

Morale of the story.

I got a deal from the first owner, and eventually ended up making more money on it. And in turn the next owner turned even more profit from it. It’s all perspectives.

I wasn’t mad!

so how many of you going to garage sale and find a treasure for $25, a ming vase, jesse james pic or a lost painting would tell the seller. no, i insist of paying you the fair market value or later discovering its value would go back and share half?

No problem if you know there is a good chance there are going to resell. However, when they come on like they really want the firearm for their own use or collection, and then flip it as soon as they have it,seems a bit underhanded to me.Even if they bought it and kept it awhile, I could see that maybe something else came along it better condition ,or a firearm they wanted more and selling it for that reason, I understand. Not just give you a story about how much they like and would like to have the firearm for themselves, when really all they want it for is to flip it and get you to give them a lower price.Just my opinion.:)

Its not hosing. You offered your goods at X value, as you valued them. He paid your price you thought was fair. Both parties were happy

So it shouldnt bother you what he does with them. If you are unhappy, next time price your goods accordingly

to be clear, I don't feel hosed. He is attempting to hose other members.
