Current BC LTATT wait time

^^ seconded. Also don't expect to get a reference number or confirmation your faxed document/request has been received or a "customer" file number. Asking will only make matters worse. (hopefully I'm not at the back of the que now for asking..11 business days and counting)

I called to check on mine and was told they are currently running one month behind. My application was received on May 7th, said I should expect to see the LTATT the first week of July.

It's interesting I faxed my LTATT in on May 18 and four days later I got a letter stating that my club membership was "missing" in the fax. So we re-faxed the application and club membership again and I called 2 weeks later and was told it would be mid July at the earliest. Amazing it takes 3 days to look at it the fax but weeks to approve it.
The hardest part my Smith & Wesson M&P 40 is paid for just sitting there waiting for me to pick her up.

You'd think that with 90% of their workload cut (non-res transfers), they'd be able to keep on top of their jobs. Go figure.

I've been waiting almost 2 weeks now for my reg cert (or even my transfer paperwork) for my SR1911

You don't need a LTATT to pick up a gun
You need a STATT

In BC you need a LTATT before the STATT apparently. It's bass ackward if you ask me. My G4 22 is just waiting at Reliable. I want bring it home dammit. Imagine waiting for something you purchased 4 - 6 weeks after big brother says its okay. Imagine if all purchases for any merchandise was like this, or had this process..people would lose it

yup if you put as your reason for wanting restricted as target practice they want to see proof of membership to a gunclub via your application for an ltatt. and if you don't apply for the ltatt it will sit there in limbo until you do.

I waited a month before picking up my cz75. Just because of the hassle, that will be my only restricted for a while. I hated the fact you pay for something you can't bring home.

O well, next restricted should go alot smoother. Then again, my dad waited 4 days for a STATT for his 2nd handgun. Maybe I should just buy more long rifles. :dancingbanana:

Let me get this straight...

It used to take 2 -6 days to get a LTATT in BC for a restricted before the long gun registry was legislated out of existence...STATT's were often received the same day/next day, so you could buy and take your restricted home within a day or so.

This means, that since April 5, the local CFO's have no longer been required to issue registration cards for long guns in their jurisdiction, so this workload component has been eliminated.

Am I missing something here?

In my opinion, Stats Can better be reporting firearms license increases of 2-3 times the normal volume, otherwise I would have to think that either there is some serious foot dragging going on, or there are competence issues in the CFO.

Just my 2 cents.

apparently you need a long term before getting a short term? any word on that?

I am trying to understand this process as its my first restricted purchase. I have read a lot of information from this forum which is a help however as I understand it is as follows (bc);

-get licensed obviously
-join club ie silvercore
-buy firearm
-transfer ownership from retailer to consumer
-apply for ltatt
-once ltatt approval, ownership transfer completes
-now you can apply for statt
-p/u firearm at retailer
-wait for registration papers

final state in hard before any ranges
1 firearm, 1 ltatt, 1 registration

is that process right or am I a soup sandwich

That's where I stand right now I'm waiting for the transfer but before the transfer can be approved I need and ATT. I have been reading around CGN about wait times but I really hope like someone said here maybe they are so overwhelmed with post-registry PAL applications that the work load is basically the same. My first firearm and this is such a hassle. Why approve my RPAL if I have to wait so long to get it in my hands. It's been mentioned before but the AT&T needs to go, I mean it's registered they know Ill have it but any way... Just frustrated

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I forgot to ask so after this is all said and done and I have my firearm and my ATT, the next time I buy a restricted is it just a matter of calling for a STATT and it's added to my existing LT? Thanks

Must your first restricted .
You do not need a LTATT before they give you a STATT to move or p/up a restricted.

ah but they wont complete the transfer if you don't have the ltatt i was called yesterday. lady said if you don't apply for ltatt with proof of range membership it will sit in limbo.... her exact words. and she said only for this first one after that should be faster. i have also heard that if you don't show proof of range membership each year they will hold up transfers as well.

I was in the same boat as you, first time getting ltatt

-may 10 joined silvercore
-may 11 faxed off app for ltatt
-may 19 bought a sr9 from international
-may 25 called up cfo just to make sure they got my fax and all the info was correct got some super mega ##### on the phone who kept saying wait 4 weeks to every question I asked
-may 28 got a letter about my statt saying I need to fill out ltatt forms call up cfo got a nice guy who told me that statt and ltatt are different departments and if I already faxed in application for ltatt to just ignore letter and hang tight
-june 6 got a call from international saying I can pick up gun
-june 8 go pick up sr9 when I get home my ltatt is in mailbox was 4 weeks on the dot from fax to mailbox

When I picked up the sr9 I also bought a sig sauer 1911-22 I will let you know how long it takes to get statt this time
