Don't feel bad I'm just finished week 2 of waiting for my transfer and STATT so I can take my new baby home. It sucks having something you paid for sitting in a safe at the store you bought it from.

Don't feel bad I'm just finished week 2 of waiting for my transfer and STATT so I can take my new baby home. It sucks having something you paid for sitting in a safe at the store you bought it from.
Took about 3 weeks to get my LTATT. Opened the letter and find good for 1 year, my licence expires next year. NOW the bad part. NO OTHER PROVINCES EXCEPT the Yukon. EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO GO OUT OF BC YOU NEED TO BEG THE CFO TO GET A STATT. You talk about job security. I asked when they changed the law on LTATTs, the lady said the CFOs decided to not issue to western Canada on the forms like my last one had. Seems Quebec has some say in what we in western Canada can have on our forms. To say I am NOT ONE BIT IMPRESSED . Now waiting for my form to go to. Sorry to get back from the IPSC Nationals as my old LTATT has to western Canada on it BUT it expires on Aug 4.

This is exactly the kind of thing I am talking about. It is clear to me, that golddust has a specific need which has been granted by the CFO previously. And because you can't contact anyone in the CFO's office, this sort of thing happens.
Now he has to get back in the wheel, unnecessarily causing delays for himself and everyone else for something that should have been easily dealt with, and not in accordance with 'normal practice'.
This is all about lack of service from our public servants.
Oh btw my ltatt was completed 4 weeks from the day i purchased my handgun and faxed in the application. I went and picked up my handgun and brought it home. I got the hard copy of my ATT in the mail 2 days later and am currently waiting for reg certs. 2 of them cause i also just bought me an nea 15 cqb. transfer is approved

If you left out the information on your application that asks you to list your restricteds, the CFO will issue the LTATT for all restricteds you own.

I am writing because our members are concerned that there is an unreasonable delay in renewing firearm licenses in the BC Chief Firearms Officer’s office. Apparently, this delay is due to personnel problems that have resulted in staffing shortages.
While the problem is general I will describe one specific case as an illustration. One of our members has been waiting since 23 March when renewal papers were submitted. This is unacceptable. Repeated calls to the BC CFO’s office have elicited the excuse that the case is assigned to an officer to do the background check. It is unreasonable that processing a firearm license would take over three months. Applicants should be accepted or rejected more expeditiously. In previous years, firearms licenses were issued with a lag of no more than 3 weeks to one month.
In this particular case, the delay in issuing the license has taken so long that the licensed has expired. Individuals who allow their license to expire are in criminal possession of firearms. The license has now expired even though the individual in question submitted the necessary paperwork with plenty of time. The expiry is entirely due to the BC CFO’s office not acting in time. The individual in question has no way to show they are not in criminal possession of their lawfully purchased and used firearms.
Our members would appreciate your efforts to encourage the BC CFO’s office to expedite their duties more quickly.

I'm pretty much in the same situation. My renewal was submitted in March and will expire in less than a month. I've been assured by the CFO's office that I'm OK to keep the firearms in my home if they don't complete the renewal in time, but I certainly won't be able to attend any of the black powder shoots I go to each month.
What a lousy process. Something certainly needs to change.

Can I assume this is not your first LTATT?
Not my first no, updating the one I had to include all of Western Canada rather than just BC after I spotted a ####up on the short term one I had for travelling to Manitoba next week. Rather than collecting all the range information and everything else they took the lazy option and just changed my long term. It was purely to make their job easier.
