Current PAL turnaround time faster?

I got a call the week after asking if I was a drug trafficker, both my references were called around the same time and asked bizarre questions. I called the CFC earlier this week, the lady on the phone informed me that my application was accepted and my plastic card was going to be sent to me on March 6th. Lets see when it actually arrives.

I didn't realize that I could send my application in before I received my test back from the CFO. So, I've wasted a month already. The application should be in Mirimachi today. God only knows when I'll get my test back from the CFO, but at least they can start working on it. I already joined a range and would like to use it, lol.

Wow! They received my application. Dec 21st...and I got it...last week of January...maybe the first week of February.
 
My references finally called them back... They said my license is at the CFO's now, everything else checks out. They received Jan. 9 and now it's March 1st. God only knows how much longer it's going to be. Told me to call back in a week if the site doesnt change. The process is way to slow. I recommend people call and check the status or if anything is missing. Seems like they dont bother to let you know and just sit on your license unless you harass them...
 
welp, they recieved my application on the 4th of february, and they sent it out today, the 3rd of march, so 29 days in total for processing. now time to play the waiting game, but this time its the mail waiting game which hopefully is alot shorter than the processing waiting game. oh ya, this was for my pal and rpal, and both my refs were called and so was i, and supposedly one of my refs wasn't home and he only called back last week.
 
My application got there January 31st and I received confirmation that it had been approved on February 28, making that exactly 28 days. Hopefully I'll get it in the mail soon.

FWIW, it's for my PAL/RPAL and they called me as well as both of my references.
 
28 days exactly from the time they received the application till approval. This is in British Columbia. They phoned one reference, but not the other one or myself. Supposedly it is in the mail.
 
Mines in the mail now to. Jan 9th to March 4th. They wouldn't approve until they contacted both references, but didn't bother to tell me they couldn't get a hold of 1 of them. Now I wait for Canada Post :D
 
They phoned me yesterday and it was received only on the 4th.
I told them I was a bit surprised it was quick and they said right now there is no backlog since it isn't hunting season.

We'll see how long the rest takes, but so far so good!
 
i sent in my renewal for my rpol but a month later decided to go for rpal so i challenged the exam.the results went to "infosecure" and they were very fast(less than a week) to send me back my confirmation letter that i passed.so cfc got app. on feb. 8.i found out that if you upgrade from pol to pal they cancel your pol application.cfc was not helpful to say the least when my application was stuck at the cfo.i called the cfo myself(directly) and was informed that i had to join a club to get my license approved.so i raced to a club and joined and the club faxed my papers(the lady at cfo gave me her fax # so that sped things up).i was approved right away and forms were sent email by cfo to cfc(CONFUSED YET?).28 days from rpal app. to approuval.waiting now for card.no references called nor spouse nor me.
 
Mine was received Dec.31st. That weekend, one of my references had a stroke (he's still recovering). So I phoned to get the paperwork to change my reference. That was finished by the end of January. I just got through all the phone reference checks early last week. Anyone have a guess at how long between the phone calls and the approval? I'm dying here...
 
Miramichi is fast, I sent my paperwork in and they processed it within a week. The problem in Quebec is the Provincial Police. They sat on my file for three weeks. I phoned them up to check up on the progress......got a typical burocratic answer "We still have some things to verify". They called me up the next day and told me all was good and mailed it out the next day.
My hunting buddy sent in his paperwork for his transport permits and they lost the paperwork 3 TIMES! Twice sent by registered mail, and then hand delivered. The whole process is a tax sucking joke! If I was to screw up like that at work I'd be out of a job.
 
i got my actual card today. it was issued to me on the 3rd of march and i received it on the 10th of march, 7 days after, so in total, it was 29 days for them to process it, then 7 days for it to get in my hands, which is 36 days in total.
 
I talked with the CFC today and my application (received on the 25th) has been approved and is simply waiting out the waiting period, and my license will be in the mail!!!

I know the feeling im suddenly worried about my references :confused::(
 
A friend of mine now on the board waited about 2 months longer than usual on account of them forgetting to mail it. If something smells fishy about your pal arriving, it almost certainly is and call them until you get a real answer.
