First and foremost I must appologize for the poor image quality. These are only another reason and examples as to why I should invest in a new digital camera :HR:

That said, here she is as she currently stands.

- Surgeon 591 action in .308
- AICS AX in FDE (much, much nicer in person - pictures do NOT do this FDE color justice)
- Kreiger 23" heavy varmint fluted barrel
- Jewell trigger

Bare bone as you see it she's pretty light @ 10.2lbs

Next up...to install the brake, rings, scope, Atlas bipod when it comes in.

Fun project :)

Cheers
Ben

That is Frecking nice, let me know if I can donate a nice muzzle brake for your baby.

very nice! i hope you plan to put some build worthy glass on there!

Surprisingly enough, I'll be putting a Vortex PST 6-24x50 FFP on it. I had the chance to look through one just a few days ago and was truly impressed by it. Had originally planned on going with another NF, but I do not see the benefit for it in my personal glass-shooter situation (i.e. I’m no pro and certainly don’t mind admitting it!).

Cheers

Thanks GB & all for the nice words

You've putting showing us some real nice brakes GB and I'd be more than happy to do so. Have you done some clamp-on brakes?

There are NO gunsmith locally in Ottawa to thread my barrel and sending this baby out (weight, size and more importantly, insurance for close to $4k gets old real quick) is a PITA.

Tks again for the offer, mighty kind of you!!

Ben:

Jason at Gunco on Colonade Road in Ottawa is local ....

Send a PM to Ian Robertson; he may be able to squeeze you in.

Jason also does very good work.

Thanks as well.

I tried contacting Ian two or three times before moving to an AICS stock (don't regret it one bit), but would have gladly offer my $$ locally of course. I'm sure he's fairly busy as well, so I'm not holding anything against him.

Now that I know he's a member of the board I will surely be in touch for any future stock or work.

Cheers
Ben

I too, would like to know this answer ;)

This one came in through VBull Precision in BC, but a Canadian importer of firearms and parts will be able to bring one in for you.

The gents @ Wolverine (excellent to deal with) can get you pretty much whatever your heart desires (and wallet permitting!)

Clay @ ProphetRiver comes to mind as well he seems to be able to get anything.

Them Surgeon action aren't cheap thought so it's best is to get your hands on a used one, but they rare (bit of an understatement) up here unfortunately.

Cheers
Ben

Check out if his work is nice and professional, then let me know, I send a nice one your way, that is beautiful and cost way less than 5k.
Let me know if I can help!

Again, mighty nice of you.

I will drop by to see Jason and will be in touch. Two members here have vouched for him so I am not walking into a gunsmith blindly; I'm sure it'll be a positive outcome.

Here's some Karma for ya Gunboy

He is better with guns then people. Personally I think it is because he is busy and doesn't like his time being wasted.

I assume by that you mean Ian?

I don't hold it against him at all for not getting back to me, but if I had the $$ for an AX AICS stock, I had the same $$ for him as well and heck I would have been VERY happy to give my business locally. Next build hopefully we'll be able to connect.

He he he! If I want sympathy, I'll consult my favourite mixologist. If I want gun advice, I'll ask my gunsmith and keep my ears open throughout the conversation. He will say that specific important something only once.
