I'm just getting back into handguns after a hiatus of 30 years. I recently purchased a .22 revolver on CGN to be used to casually punch paper at my local club. I was hoping someone could chime in with their recent experience to tell me how long it took before the seller could ship to the buyer. I'm chomping at the bit but the wheels of government can turn very slowly at times so I'm trying to be patient. Also I need some clarification on the ATT. Is it tied to one restricted with each handgun having their own ATT or does one ATT allow the transport of any or all restricted weapons? Is an ATT issued federally or through a Provincial CFO? Any help or comments would be appreciated .Thanks

Transfer times vary. in the west days, in the east it could be weeks. The att covers all your restricted firearms. I believe the att are issued federally, to get a short term att to leave your province (competition) you have to call firearms centre.

Depends where you are , as a first time owner, it will take longer, If you are not in Ontario , you have to have a range membership .
Ontario you don't. All transfers and ATT's ate issued by your province.
Did you get a reference number from the seller, your should have, if not phone and get the number, and than you can check and see if there is a hold up.
The CFO will not phone you , you have to phone them.
How long is long? a few days? Looks like a privet sale, so you will have to phone in , or have you already?
The seller can't ship your gun till he gets the approval notice or email from the CFO. When you get the card in the mail, it will have you conditions on it for gun range, etc.
Read it and keep it. Make a copy and keep the copy in your gun bag/ case, and the originals I keep in a file in the safe.

Thanks for all the replies fellas. My seller is in Ontario and we both did our telephone part(reference # blah blah) on November 3 so who knows? Thanks again
