UPDATE on page 2, post # 20

I bought a used Savage MK 2 which was made recently.

I used to have a Mark 2 TR about 6 years ago, which I sold and i also had a Savage Mod 10 FCP-K.
The triggers were OK, in fact i loved them.

The Accutrigger on my recently made Mark 2 is not what its used to be.
Now I know why guys complains...

The trigger have a gritty feeling and slight overtravel before it break and i don't like it.

I don't have the tool for adjusting the trigger but I doubt it will fix the problem.

I want to keep the rifle so i want to know if there is anyone who have fixed this problem and if yes, how ?
I would like to try to fix the factory trigger before looking at aftermarket parts...Unless its a really big improvement.

Yeah I saw the kit, in fact i sent them an email this afternoon to know if they ship to Canada...
Thx !

It's pretty easy Ben, look up one of the many guides that will show you how to dis/reassemble and you should be set. I used automotive sandpaper and finished with 1500 grit.

I saw a thread regards this subject on RC, looks pretty easy.
I also have stones, quality emery cloth sand paper, well everything to make the job.

at that price you might as well get a Rifle Basix...

Yeah the Apachee kit seems to be a little expensive for what it is but the bigest advantage over the Rifle Basix is you keep the sear safety. I will shoot this rifle in the field and not only on the bench so i would like to keep that feature.

What i think i will do : try a Apachee kit and see if thats make me happy, if not resale the Apachee kit and order a RB trigger.

I only have a question about the RB trigger : What is an *E* receiver and how to know if I have one ?

I called them and told him what I had and they sent me the appropriate trigger. :)

Did Not have blade safeties before. :) And I cant stand them . :)

I have had an Apachee trigger kit for my .22 and .17hmr for a couple of years. You will love it. I have recently gotten a .223 and a .308... not sure if the kit fits those triggers, but I'm gonna find out!!

Someone can tell me the dimensions of the Savage Accutrigger tool.

I don't have one but I will need it so i will make one.

If someone don't need his tool and want to part with it, please PM me, I'll take it.

Here is the dimensions I need :

OK I have found a tool !

A nice CGentleman offered me one for free ! Thank again ;)

I think I will order a trigger pull gauge to test and show the progress i will make.
I will order the Apachee kit tomorrow and keep this thread updated...

So I received the Apachee trigger parts for my MK2.

The lowest setting I can go with the factory trigger was slightly over 2 pounds and it was a bit gritty.

The dissasebly was easy.
Parts look cheap, looks like chinese made parts but that makes me love even more my CZ452 !

I inspected the trigger and trigger sear mating surface and it was not bad.
The gritty feel is probably from the sides of the trigger and trigger sear, which are pretty rough in some areas.
I stoned the sides of those 2 parts and I stopped when I feel it was OK.
You can see on the pics it was pretty uneaven but I did not wanted to remove too much.

The trigger also had side-to-side play.
I fixed that by adding two .008 inch shims on both side of the trigger.

Reassembly was easy.

The lowest setting I can go is around 1 pound 2 ounces.
The Apachee trigger kit claim it garantee you can go under 1 pound but when I tried to go lower than 1 pouns 2 ounces, the trigger machanism lock.
The accutrigger is made like that so the mechanism lock, the rifle wont fire and that's why I wanted to keep the Accutrigger for field use.
The trigger is probably a couple ounces heavier because of the trigger shims I added.

But hey, it now feels MUCH better, no more gritty feeling and its just 2 ounces over a pound, which is right about how I like my triggers.

The Apachee kit is a little expensive ( the $ exchange don't help ) for what it is but in the end, I'm happy with the results.

Is the Rifle basix better than the Apachee kit ? I don't know but it sure looks cool with the red blade ( like the target accutriggers ).

Now I need to wait the Pro-Varmint stock ( should be here next week ) and find a decent rimfire/AO scope.
