current value of SA surplus 223/5.56 by battle pack?

I picked up 2 cases of this stuff for my personal stash but the fella turned me on to a retiree who is sitting on an undisclosed quantity and wants to get fair dollar for it.

any idea what it's worth? I may facilitate it's sale here for him in the exchange but bear in mind this post is not an add..... p.m.'s asking about this will be ignored and not because i want to be rude.... i am just playin by the rules :D

so...... anyone have a good estimate?
 
50 cents per round is the norm at the shows for any shootable 223, surplus or not

Wow - I picked up just over 4000 rounds of the stuff a few years back - cost was just over $200/1000. It's a better investment than my HOUSE! :)

I would pay $350/1000 now, but not $500/1000... I guess that's why I reload now.
 
Hey ACP,

If it's still sealed (both the factory or armory sealed on the tub [lead & wire fob] and sealed battle packs) it's worth ~$500.00 / 1000. Having said that, I've seen factory configurations of 2700 rounds in 300 round battle packs, so a case like that would fetch ~$1,200.00 -> $1,300.00 CAD.

Please let us know what happens with it... I'd be in for some.
