Curse you 1911 lovers!

Find yourself a reputable local who does remanufactured ammo. Safe and should run more like $300 per 1000 rounds and no taxes. Give your spent brass to your go-to guy (assuming you aren't reloading) and help keep the cost down for all. I use a sharpie & ruler to run a line on each box of 50 so I know I'm picking up my own.

How do you like the Tactical? How does it compare to other 1911s in the weight and recoil department?

The Tactical Custom II is lighter but very solid and the alloy frame shows no wear other than to the finish after 3K rounds. I replaced the night sights with TruGlo fibre optics but don't notice much differance under most conditions. As with most 1911's this pistol feels custom fit for my hand, draws, points, and aims from my Blackhawk Serpa very smoothly. Recoil - no noticable differance between alloy frame or steel. I will get a 9mm Stainless Kimber next and add a magwell. After that I want a Colt Special Combat Government in .45. The stock Kimber mags are gritty and cheap feeling. I ordered a doxen premium Pro-Tac stainless 8 rnd mags direct from Kimber and they are great. MecGars and Wilsons of course are very good as well but the high end Kimber mags come with choice of either flat or two other quick change bumper pads.
