During a quick boat ride to international waters ;) I slapped my pistol grip on the 8.5inch Griz, and took some size comparison pics. We've got here, the Griz, The Outlaw, and my Ruger Super Blackhawk with 10.5" barrel.

I also, when cleaning it noticed the forearm rails don't look like they have the very most robust welds in the world. Do the earlier Grizzlies has the brassy looking welding (or brazing, I'm a busdriver, not a metallurgist).

Going to take her out tomorrow and get some rounds down the tube. Long term plans are to go to dealextreme.com to get a freaking "LASER" to mount on the rail. So long as I remember to take the camera with me, I'll have some vids to put up.

Thanks for posting, the older Grizzlies have the same brazing.
Can you zoom out a bit more and show the full length compared to the outlaw?

Glad to hear the older Griz's are the same, I've not heard of any problems, so the boosts my confidence a lot in the forearm. Here's a little further out pic, Outlaw is just over 29", Griz is just over 28".

As a gun enthusiast: absolutely beautiful gun!

As someone familiar with welding and metals: the brazing does not look like it covers very much surface area... I personally would grind that off and have it properly welded. Or at least throw in some more braze, it just looks way too thin in that picture.

The braze shown in the pic is just excess, the major portion extends under the handguard.
 
That boat sure has a nice deck, the pictures look awesome too. The Dlask 8.5" holds 3 rounds, does this one hold 3 rounds as well. I've seen a youtube video of a guy only loading two rounds, thats why I'm asking.
 
Mine would only take 2 rounds 2.75" no matter how hard I pushed. I imagine if you could shorten the follower, and also the (not sure of the term) black part that holds the spring in, then you might be able to squeeze in a third. I've got some vids to put up, if they finish uploading before I need to sleep I'll put them up tonight, otherwise you might need to wait for morning.

I really should have taken a couple extra seconds and showed Timberwolfe how to use the camera :rolleyes: Missing are the vids showing at 7-8 yards the patterns for 7.5 shot and buckshot, both were about 10-12 across, so to call it a scatter gun, is pretty accurate. The buckshot though, I guess it could be said to be the "Cone of Death" that everyone always talks it up to be. I'd feel pretty confident after this testing, that anything in the general direction, is gonna eat some lead.

Here's "The most useless thing in the world" in action, with buckshot. Check out the fireball on the first shot. I can say though, that shooting the gun, I never actually saw the big fireballs, that the camera picked up. Perhaps if it were a bit darker, I would have.

Just a couple of pudgy bastards having a blast out on a far distant island located in international waters, where pistol grip shotguns with shortbarrels are not only OK, they are actively encouraged. In the clay videos, Check out the CZ858, sitting in it's stand, if you ever wondered why civillian longarms require bayonets, there's the real reason right there. Also, I can assure you, that although it may look like Timberwolfe was not wearing eye protection, he wears bulletproof lexan contact lenses, just the kind of thing international waters island owning billionaires such as ourselves have exclusive access to.
 
With that pistol grip it looked tough to hold onto!
You think you would have faired better with one of those pistol grip like things on the pump part? I have no idea what its actually called.

By the next time I get to use it, I'll likely have a Freakin "Laser" mounted on it. So, I don't mind one day of poor aiming, I was more out to check function and patterns anyway. It was less hassle having the rail in the way, than it was shooting my single shot CZ858 (butler forgot to pack the magazines).
 
very cool, I was expecting a 6 foot muzzle flash, 2 pellets on paper and someone laying on the ground, screaming, holding their arm. That would keep yogi and booboo out of yer picinic for sure;) great vids guys
