Custom 10/22 - volquartsen or dlask?

I quickly asked about that as well. They do make them in small runs. however, it will need to do a lot of stock work to make it fit. because the barrel is threaded on and doesnt use the vblock the dimensions are completely different. you wont be able to get a synthetic stock at all. it either has to be laminate or solid wood and you need to get a gunsmith to inlet and probably bed it for you (unless you are very handy and have the proper tools). its a whole other ballgame.

When I talked to DLASK about fitting the threaded receiver/barrel combo they said they inlet the Boyd Blaster stock to fit and that stock looks pretty sweet.

Tipper listen to stubblejumper. Volquartsen uses a threaded barrel into a threaded receiver and do this without the use of a BARREL NUT, https://w ww.volquartsen.com/tags/8-volquartsen-rimfire-rifles,15-complete-firearms, look at the stainless barreled action. Dlask has a threaded barrel that is locked to the threaded receiver using a BARREL NUT, h ttp://dlaskarms.com/products/dar-22-threaded-receiver. Once again more misinformation from those that post just for the sake of post count.

he wasnt talking about a threaded crown on the barrel for a muzzle break or can. he is talking about a barrel which is attached to the receiver with threads and a bolt instead of the vblock. similar to what you would find on a remmington 700 action.

I wasn't talking about a threaded muzzle either. I have no idea how you took my mention of a threaded stainless barrel and action to mean a threaded muzzle.f:P:

i was just doing some research about the volq threaded stuff and what i saw didnt impress too much.

i wasnt the one who thought that...

edit----

you are going to get a lof of different opinions on here. and honestly you are looking at a very small sample size. if you are considering higher end builds head on over to rimfirecentral they have several forums all specifically about the 10/22. the ultimate 10/22 section would be of particular interest. its mostly from an american perspective so they do have access to much more.

Thanks for all the replys, some really good info here. I hadn't even considered the threaded barrel option. At this point I'm leaning towards a dlask build, but the idea of a volquartsen in 17hmr is very tempting. I have no real use for a semi 17hmr, so it will likely stay on the wish list.

I've done some reading on rfc, but the only people there familer with dlask are Canucks who are mostly on here too. There are almost too many options (which is a good thing) for a good custom 10/22. It's a nice problem to have. I'm having more trouble deciding on a stock right now. I like the looks of the new titan stock, but the boyds tacticool seems good too.

Anyways, thanks for all the suggestions and ideas, feel free to throw some more at me.

there are a few americans who have lived in canada or canadians living in the US now who have experience with dlask as well. they rate them well overall. it was more from the perspective of the american companies who we can get parts from up here (kidd, VQ, power custom, etc).
