We just finished a pair of these single shot 408 Cheytac custom rifles. They are so nice, one didn't even make it to the showroom floor.

Specs: Stiller TAC408 single shot action, Rock Creek stainless steel 5R 30" barrel w ATRS gill brake, McMillan A5 stock with adj comb & LoP (bedded), Timney Trigger, ATRS 40 MOA scope rail.

How heavy is it?

I'd love to know the occupation of people that can afford to shoot the 408 and 50's.

Surprisingly there sems to be no shortage of folks who not only can afford to shoot the more expensive calibers and rifles, but there are many who own several of them.
Needless to say doctors and lawyers are up there but here at least alot of oil money is spent on spendy boomers.

I believe that the flight characteristics of the .408 are more stable then .50's at extreme distances.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe that is simply marketing hype by the Cheytac guys.
They seemed to always compare their caliber and match rifle loaded with match ammo to an M2 with surplus ball ammo or at best a "battle rifle" with surplus ball ammo.

Shooting both, I still believe the 50 with an Amax or Lapua bullet loaded in match type ammo still dominates the field for extreme long range.

That's actually not so bad, all things considered - I expected it to be more.

ATRS, I notice you don't use so many Kriegers on your rifles in the context of how popular they are around here... Or am I just under the wrong impression?

Krieger makes a great barrel, but trying to do business with them is almost painful.
Rock Creek makes a great barrel and treat me wonderfully and with respect.
Being a bit crusty I do not take well to being talked down to by any supplier which I have been by Krieger, Gaillard and Lothar Walther which is why I seldom use them.

My relationship with both Rock Creek and Lilja is very long and sound so I prefer to use great quality barrels from great people to do business with and who will stand behind their product should there be any issue. I can't ask for better than that.
I have had and continue to have phenomenally good results with Rock Creek and Lilja so unless someone just "has to have" a Krieger I will use a Rock or Lilja that will shoot just as well as a Krieger.

Thanks for the info. .805 bc is OK but compared to .945 on the Jaminsons I will have to crunch some numbers to see how much more elevations needed for real long range
