Shes a beauty I'v always wanted a rifle chambered in 45/70 eversince I first held that massive cartridge. While on the subject of the 45/***'s. Can anyone give me some insight as to any lever or bolt action rifles on the market chambered for 45/70,90, or 120?.
Thanks I really don't know all that much about them.

45-70 is chambered in several Marlin lever actions, and the 1886 Winchester.
If you want to go for the longer 45-90 or 45-100, I think you will have to go with the 1886 Winchester. I don't think the Marlin action is long enough.
Both actions are of compareable strength.

I know this is a silly sort of question, but what are you planning on using her for? Could be an interesting hunting rig from a stand with some markers laid out. Wouldn't want to climb a mountain with it though.

I plan to hunt with it.
No use owning a gun if cant kill anything with it:D
It not that heavy- I use to own a browning eclipse 300 - and that was a lot heavier packing around all day:D
Yes it is custom stock- built for the gun - very nice also.
I like the 45-70 - this is number 2 haso have one in a marlin:D :D

I was tempted by this one too, nice score hithere. Being a No 3 I certainly wouldn't think it would weigh a pile even with the heavy barrel and stock. Good thing you've got a beafy looking recoil pad.:)
