Essentially the sum of the parts. You can assemble a gun for in the $1000.00 range if you select to go with the cheapest parts available or you can spend a bit over $3000.00 if you opt for all top end components.

There are many sources for parts as not 1 shop will have everything you may wish for. There are also many different qualities of parts.
There are several reputable dealers who can sell you parts or even mix and match parts.
We have decided to manufacture most of our own parts as frankly a lot of what is offered just did not impress me for overall quality.

Just like in everything else you buy, you really DO get what you pay for.
 
i would like to thank everyone for all their inputs on this thread...been both easy and difficult in this topic

maybe i should just type out the list of 'things' that i want in an ar rifle and maybe someone can help me fill in the missing pieces/components to it...
