I have a Winchester 1300 Defender which holds 8 shots in the magazine. I would like to put a 26 or 28" barrel on this gun so that it could be used as a secondary goose gun if required. I know you can buy extra barrels for the regular 1300 but the mounting ring is too far back.

Does anyone know where I could get a vent rib barrel with a properly placed barrel ring or any gunsmith that could make this modification

Thanks

looking for one since a couple of year!:bangHead:
never saw one or know that exist , probably need to go to a Gunsmith with a regular one to modify the mounting ring !

BTW if you find one let me know!

Are you looking for an interchangeable solution? Like swapping from goose gun to defender and back? I have no suggestion for that.

But if you are looking for a more or less permanent change, a 5-shot magazine tube could be installed, they are available for about $40US. Then a regular 1300 barrel should fit.

I have seen one...

The fello took a used 1300 barrel, had a gunsmith remove the ring and move it forward, then resolder. The barrel then had to be refinished.

Very expensive work, but he seemed set on it. I think the cost was about $150 for the barrel, $75 to move the ring and then the cost to refinish.

Probably worth buying another gun.

Or you could just get some pipe the right size and use it as a spacer between the tube ring and cap.
