Custom coyote calls

I don't know but it's indeed very thin. Very easy to use and make raspy sounds nonetheless. I'll just have to be careful not to bend it when walking to a set with all my stuff on me.

You may want to check and see if a pill bottle will protect it as was seen in an earlier post.... I know all of carvers calls have that neck that is the same size... must be standard among call makers or something....

Here's two more I got today.

Weems Wild Call replica by Dan Thompson. Very loud and raspy Jackrabbit distress call. Sounds pretty good.

Now for something pretty original. .223 Rem brass open reed pup squaller. This little call sounds amazing!! I thought nothing of it until I let it rip and Wow! It makes near perfect puppies cries and sounds amazing.

Very very nice bellero.... I love nice calls... these guys are true artisans...

Thanks Brad.

Today, I got the Call I ordered from Yotehntr. It looks amazing and sounds not bad at all. It has Red Mallee burl barrel with a hippo ivory bead. It is followed with an o-ring fitted buffalo horn toneboard with hippo ivory insert. Impressive craftsmanship.

I was supposed to get an open reed call but Brad offered me this one instead for a faster delivery as he's pretty much backed up for a few months. I'll order an open reed later on.

Nice.... I prefer the closed reeds myself... laways feel like i am going to break my open reed calls (of course that never happens).... nice looking work... especially like the ivory....

Very nice... I went for a yote hunt with a member from here and he has a couple he bought at carvers..... I blasted the foxpro for a while and after some no show time he started a rasbbit distress .... very nice... better than the foxpro....

I am upgrading my foxpro but I am still working to get more proficient with the hand calls....

I spoke with Kerry at Carvers the other day... his daughter's surgery went well and he will be open for business soon.... :)

I'm glad to hear Kerry's daughter is recovering well.

It was the Swift. It has a nice sound to it... I need a little (a lot) more practice on it though...

I thought it sounded good.... also.. I am not a coyote....lol....

I also need practice on mine... we'll have the spitfire for next time.... :)

Also looking to get a fawn decoy.... it's time to get serious.....lol

One more closed reed call, this time made by Nick Nelson. Made of Bubinga wood, it's a shade over 3" long and CA finished inside and out. It's set up with a double inhale / exhale squeaker and can also do some killer bird distress with some practise.

That's awesome bellero... I hjave never owned a 2 way call but have often wondered why many folk don't make them... Very neat and something for me to look for....

Thanks Brad,

Here's another one from Rick Robbins. Made of stabilized Black Ash Burl, this call is tuned loud and Raspy. Would make a great spring bear Distress call.

Very nice... Can anyone explain to me the meaning of "burl"... I am assuming it refers to grain vs cut... But would like to know...

It's basically a big knot that transformed into a growth which often creates attractive wood grain patterns in most tree species.

They explain it better than I can here.
