Custom CZ 858 Handguards/Stocks?

hahah! funny! we posted that at the same time,,maybe were linked.... besides guns,,,do you like strippers and souvlakis too? lol :)))

No, they look pretty awesome.

A couple of questions.

What type of wood did you use?

How do you find the off angle of the rear stocks for getting a good sight picture?

Sight picture is perfect. The angle is ideal for using the irons on all the pjctured rifles.

Top "RPK" version is an african wood (chek de cok) or something
Middle "AK" version is red oak
Bottom krinkov version is zebra wood
Pistol version is cherry wood.

Alright.
Got my rifle
Cleaned her because she was filthy when I bought it, nothing pisses me off more but that's a whole other story....

So I have made the stencils for the sizes and rough cuts of my custom furniture.

How do I get the upper hanguard off of the heat shield?

I notice there are two tabs that rim over the edge of the plastiwood. Do I pry them back and the whole thing will pop off?

I don't want to put too much force in the wrong direction and have it break. I hear parts aren't plentiful or cheap lol.

Any help would be appreciated.

NOTE: Probably posted this in the wrong post. Feel free to move or delete post... My bad, sorry for that.

Check out what just came in the mail today... Polymer folding stock with metal hinge from Czeck Repub. Locks up super tight and its thick enough to get a good cheek weld.

Alright, I guess I'll keep updating this as I go.
So my CZ is being sand blasted and cerama-baked in a nice flat black.

I sent the furniture to my highly skilled woodworking brother in Quebec with detailed instructions and rough stencils for the new Birch furniture he is going to cut.

I'll post some pics of the parts and then full assembly.

More to follow!

Pry up the metal tabs , then rotate the heat shield in the opposite direction of the outer wood and it will come apart .

lol Aye, I had to drill the little rivet pin inside.

Then bent the tabs so I could rotate the whole metal sleeve, they serve pretty much no purpose. I will simply rig up a simpler removable system for the new wood out of scrap metal.

I really am amazed at how simple this rifle is

Can't wait to see what my brother is going to do with the instructions and parts I sent him :D

Thanks so far guys, very much appreciated for the education and guidance.
