custom, factory or build??

I have already answered your P.M. but I will add that I would send the rifle out to Corlane sporting goods. They have done a few jobs for me.The workmanship was very good, the price is fair, and the job was complete when promised. They also do a great job coating barreled actions. The website is www.rockymountainrifles.comI would recommend a 26" gaillard barrel.

rebarrel the Sako to either 300 Win Mag or 300 Weatherby with a 25" tube (ya gotta be different, everyone has a 24" or 26" barrel) and don't look back...but then again...they won't do anything the 8mm Mag won't do...

Custom rifle?

I have a 8mm Rem Mag too,and would not ever consider getting rid of it(of course I'm hunting in BC,not Ontario),but if you want to re-chamber,consider the .358 STA(Shooting Times Alaskan). It offers 3000fps with a Barnes 250gr.XFB.(24" barrel),and is based on the 8mm Mag case.Cheers,Mur.
