Just looking for some ideas for grips for a 1911 commander series handgun. I wanted something custom and I know a guy that can help me. I was wondering what I should do, I was thinking wood with diamond checkering with a stained finish but I wanted something in the middle of the grips. Something related to vietnam or even ww2. Was the commander model even around in WW2?
What would you guys do? USMC? maybe a POW symbol? What about canadians that fought in vietnam, any kind of logos would be awesome.
