I just recently picked up a Norinco 1911 NP-30N, the high cap nickel plated model and I love it! Id like to get some custom grips for it though, is there anyone out there that makes them? Something like a set of rubber grips with finger grooves is what Im after. Or pearl of course....lol Thanks!!

Pearl might be tough as the hi cap frame is wider (so grips are thinner). I've got a set of real pearl for a single stack, very fragile.
Yes, you are correct, they are fragile. Ive have a set of imitation pearl grips on my polished SS Ruger New Vaquero, they look awesome and they are holding up very well.
The rubber finger grips is really what Im after though. :)

I just got some new ones for my Norinco 1911. Plus a mag well.

Thanks Mercury, they look great! But where did you get them? lol

D'oh! I got the grips and those cool grip screws at http://vzgrips.com/gun-grips/1911-pistol-grips-1/vz-recons

No problem shipping to Canada. Mine are the "mutant grey" ones. I've got a new STI Trojan coming soon so I'll probably get a new pair in the "Zebra G10" color.

The thing I like about them most is the cut out for my thumb. I've got smaller hands and I used to have to shift my grip when dropping a mag. Not any more.

Some nice hand-made buffalo horn grips available from Vietnam at

ww w.handicraft-vn.com

Don't order the mother-of-pearl, though. Worth as much as the gun, if you ever get them. I've been waiting for months.

Check out Hogue's collection of 1911 grips. They have polymer pearl grips, finger groove grips, rubber panel, rubber with palm swells and lots more. Their products are great.
