Nothing boring about imo the best most versatile chambering

Im not letting Ardent end another thread with his fancy shotgun :)

Here is my 223 Rem 12 twist Benchmark #1 Remington Model 7 in a Mcmillan Compact

A nice Rem 700 SA 223AI 8 twist Pacnor in a tan Mcmillan Sporter built originally for our friend Rick, now pushing 75gr Bergers through open country coyotes

They are 4lbs 13 ounces bare rifle
From the factory,

But it has had some tweaks to reduce weight

Bottom metal replaced with a custom,
Among a few other things

My only custom stocked rifle, is an extensively reworked Brno ZKK 600 30-06 by Chris Griesbach. It shoulders and swings like a well balanced bird gun. Chris built a peep sight that stays tucked behind the rear ring, since this one did not have the pop-up original. Rear sight boss was removed. Metal was slimmed and polished, rust blued, trigger tuned, and of course the stock built. I'm a fan of Czech rifles and guns, they are mechanically excellent. They just need an artists's touch to get the aesthetics tuned up right. Carried it quite a bit last fall but didn't get to squeeze the trigger on game.

I can't actually call these true custom rifles, but they were "tweaked" by Ralf Martini before he stopped doing this type of work to concentrate on his original creations.

Brno 22Fullstock 7x57 with Dakota M70 style bolt shroud and 3 pos safety added, Pachmayr pad, and Recknagel single adjustable trigger added. The original skelton QD scope mount had the rings replaced with Leupold QD rings that were modified to fit. i kept all the old parts and can re-assemble it in original form.
Brno 21Halfstock 7x64 with Dakota M70 style bolt shroud and 3 pos safety added, Pachmayr pad, and Ralf's Oberdorf Style straight, round knob bolt replacing the original. The single adjustable trigger is a rare original. It has also been glass bedded and a cross pin added to reinforce the stock.

These were modified to make them more usable, while preserving the original svelte lines and reliable function.
