Just curious as I have tried the data in my reloading books regarding how much powder to use for my 9mm and .45 reloads. What have some of the CGNers used for their loads? If possible, I would like to know minimum and maximum loads for the following....

9mm 124gr Frontier FP
.45 200gr Frontier FP

I only have Titegroup and Universal from Clays International to work with.

Thanks In Advance!:D

Depends on what you are after... If you want to load to factory ammo specs, light loads or +P loads...

Keep in mind that Frontier bullets are plated thus have very thin copper shell and are almost as soft as lead. So, you load them looking at lead load data more than FMJ.

I personally invested into a Chrono and that allowed me to know velocity and calculate power factor when making match ammo.

My 9mm load:
Bullet: Frontier FP 124gr
Powder: H.Universal Clays 4.3gr; Note: Universal has changed formulation recently, see if you got older or new one, they require diff amount of powder..
Primer: Federal or Win; Federal is a bit hotter, both are softer than CCI
OAL: 1.078

Hope it helps.

"...load them looking at lead load data more than FMJ..." Load plated bullets using cast bullet data only.
There's Titegroup and Clays 200 grain cast .45 ACP and 9mm 125 grain(close enough. One grain doesn't matter) data on Hodgdon's site. Don't worry about the 'LSWC' or 'LCN'.

Thanks. I get different opinions even from "verteran" reloaders. I figured that starting loads for FMJ would be ok for plated bullets. I used 6.0 grains for Universal and 4.7 grains for Titegroup in the .45 200gr Frontier bullets. In the 9mm 124gr Frontier bullets I used 4.3 grains for Universal and 4.1 grains for Titegroup.

If anyone has already tried loading the .45 200gr and 9mm 124gr Frontier bullets with Titegroup or Universal from Clays I would really appreciate some feedback as to their load data.
