I am considering trading my custom m14 built up from a norinco receiver. I haven't yet posted a wtt on the ee yet but felt like asking if that is a reasonable offer. And what kind of 338 I could expect to get if any.

I have a norinco m14 that is getting ready to have a 22" criterion barrel installed (haven't forked out the cash yet and won't put the rifle on the EE until the installation is completed). She currently sits in a vltor emods stock that was originally tan but had the original coating sanded down to the fiber glass and was given a smooth feel and then duracoated black. The op rod spring guide was swapped out for a stainless steel cylindrical one (forget who made it but it is the lighter of two that I have). The barrel will be fitted with a Sei vortex flash suppressor and an arms 18 mount that has a small amount of material dremmeled out to fit the big knob of an aimpoint and then it was duracoated black aswell. The top hand guard has ventilation slots and was also duracoated black. It has a dlask arms gas lock and was fitted with a Sei tritium front sight. The rear sight was taken from a Springfield m1a. The trigger has been tuned and the receiver refinished. The whole package has been aligned and bedded.
She also has the Yankee hill machine forward gass venting bottom rail.

All in all I've spent a great deal of cash on her and love her dearly but a 338 would satisfy my lust for longer range... If this idea is a bust well I'm not too hurt. Assuming this all works out gravy do you think that any one would be interested?

The Norc's have a hard time handing any .308Win round over 150gr as is. You'd have to get a whole new gun made, reviver and all if you want it to be able to take a .338LM loads. Cool idea but it would be very big(er) and heavy(ier) tho...not to mention very $$$.

+ cash, you could get lucky and find someone who can handle the price of the 338 LM ammo, even reloading this is a very expensive ammo... JP.
