Custom Rimfire help Wanted.

Here is a 1 of a kind rifle I know no one else has something exactly the same... The barrel was custom made and one of a kind so unless someone goes out of there way to make it exactly the same I don't see it happening... Its a 10.5 inch barrel that was custom ordered. the firearm has it's own FRT number because any barrel length under 11.5 is restricted but due to the stock it makes it non restricted because its 32 or 33 inchs long.

Been following this thread for a bit. Build whatever you think will make you happy. If you can dream it, chances are it can be done. There are a lot 22's modded to take on many different shapes. Being that you are looking at a lever, my build will be the furthest from what are looking for but it demonstrates that there is more than one way to skin a cat. This is a ruger 10-22 dressed up as close to an mp5 as the original gun would allow me to get. It is currently waiting to be anodized. Like i said, probably not your cup of tea but an example of imagination and and a starting platform

That specific rifle is from www grizzlycustom com in Montana. There are not 'cheap' by any stretch of the imagination!

There was a tread about SBR lever guns on rimfirecentral a while back... But my search-foo is not up to par, because I can't seem to find it again!

Ahhhhh, a Grizzly! Thanks for that. I looked at some of their stuff some time ago when I was thinking of modding an 1895 I own. It's obviously been a while. They've added lots of stuff to their website. I absolutely love that little 39A. Maybe some day,.......

This thread has taken an unexpected (for me) but very interesting turn. "Custom" does indeed cover a wide and varied number of firearms, and is obviously only limited by one's imagination and budget! Nice work guys.

hoytcanon,... I don't see one of your rifles without a brake of some sort. I'm curious, do the brakes on your rimfires measurably improve the firing characteristics of your rifles or are they mostly for aesthetics? I don't dabble in rimfires at all beyond the "normal" configurations so I am ignorant in the ways of your particular mods.

Ahhh... well, its like this. The brakes, protect the crown, provide minor compensation (afterall its a rimfire) for rapid fire timed events... everyone who has tried the braked vs. non-braked test has noticed the difference (particularly with HM2, HMR and Hyper LR loads) ... but primarily I like the look of a muzzle brakes... I have always found guns " visually lacking" on the muzzle end of the gun... the brake kinda provides balance and a framework for the overall look... but thats just how I roll... to each their own. :D

wow, I thought this thread was dead... well, I know that I could go with a bolt or semi, I do plan too at some point but it wont be a .22LR. For that Caliber I really do want a lever, more specifically something based around the 39a, I love the Marlin 39a unfortunately they dont sell used too often and the Remlins... well everyone Knows about the Remlins, never been the same since. So I figure, I want ONE, just ONE 22lr rifle and I want it to be something that I adore. As sillyMike stated the 22lr is going to be the gun that is going to see the most amount of use so why not spend the cash. I want something I Will enjoy shooting now and when Im 60, I'v always loved the lever action, I just cant see my self going wrong with it.

Some people drop 1800$ on Video game systems + Games and those are obsolete after 5 years. I'm not one of them, Id rather drop 1800 on a Nice 22lr that will last me a lifetime.

Go for it Pseudo, you don't have to make anyone happy but yourself. With a little bit of patience I'm sure you'll be able to dig yourself up a used 39A (but not mine, sorry ;) ). Make sure you post some pictures when your done. I would love to see what you end up with.

Thanks for the info, that is pretty much what I thought, but wasn't sure. Your rigs definitely have a signature look to them.
