So of you may know, some may not I am a one armed firearm operator. In my quest for safer and easier operation of my firearms I started to search for a slide pull mod for my APX, as I soon discovered most slide pulls are made for Glocks. After several ideas I settled on getting 2 holes drilled into the back plate, I then used soft stainless lockwire type 304 (dia 0.32) and proceeded to insert the wire through the hole. I took the end that I passed through the back plate and created a small "U" that I compressed upon itself, pulling that "U" back into the hole creating a "wedge" not allowing the wire to be pulled out. After threading both holes with the wire I twisted them both into 1 strand with lock wire pliers and then applied a parracord wrap to allow me to grip it with my teeth. I now have another way of cocking/locking the slide other than off the optic, it also allows me to keep the muzzle down range (safety)

Thank you to Mr. Brouwer from Tacord for helping me complete this project.

Dam smart! Reggie's got the rig right there!!

Very creative, I commend your out of the box thinking! That is a damn fine idea for those who deal with your particular circumstances, I have no doubt others would utilize your idea :)

Ty Edgy, Not too many 1 armed operators out there so getting creative is a must. I have these on most of my FA's, and can come in handy (lol) for any operator in a injured arm situation or your hands/gloves are wet or muddy .

Definitely an interesting concept!

Someone in my circle only has use of one hand and it's been keeping him from pursuing his RPAL.

I'll show him what you've done. It may be just what he needs to tip the balance!

I would appreciate that, and you are a great friend for your thoughtfulness.

Just another suggestion, I don't have it mounted at the present, and this is 1911 45, with a 4 port bushing comp.
It fits the slide, not the barrel, so if you push the gun barrel/ comp on the bench, it will rack the slide.
Some RO may have a problem with a press like that, I don't , but it is my range.
would not be practical on most other than 1911 type.
They work fine on all 45, but not norinco in 9mm as their barrels are different than US colt barrels in 9mm

There is a after market cocker for the ruger Mk 3-4's that is like a ring at the back, with a good thumb that should work.
Someone had a picture posted couple days ago of one on a new pistol, but I have trouble figuring out how to move pictures around.

1ABNDT, sort of your idea, but a loop, does that cord bother you when the gun cycles? Or does the end stay down, I was just wondering if it gets tangled up in the sight?

The lock wire inside the paracord will hold it straight out with no drooping. I went this route as there are no slide pulls available for my HG.
