"Custom" wooden stock for SKS

Found this website on Russian forum. Price is roughly between $350 - $500 for a stock. Kind of expensive for $200 rifle but interesting. They are in Moscow and do ship internationally.

My question is - why? It seems to me to be a way of polishing a turd.

You have the elegant stock lines - mated to the clunky chunky SKS. Not to rag on the SKS, it is a damn fine rifle but it is what it is. To try and turn a Russian peasant woman into a beauty queen only works in fairy tales.

Very ###y and nice grain on the wood. Very ###y curves on the stocks.

Now I wouldnt mind one of the darker woods with chromed metal parts, definitely a must have for the collection.

shipping shouldn't be more than $50. I'll phone them and ask about it as well as if they actually have them ready to ship or how much time they need to make stocks.

I will be posting pictures this week of a thumbhole walnut sks stock my budddy is starting to turn out. They are semi inlet so you will have a little work to do. Pics will be up as soon as i can get Sksavenger down from the hills.

Thats the whole point, it has been proven, you can polish a turd. So why not a SKS................

Finally talked to Russians. they don't have stocks ready to ship. Production takes about 4 weeks. full payment upfront. they would ship to Canada for about $33 per stock. So total for the stock I like will be around $435 - delivered. Twice the rifle price, but I like it. I'm going to place an order for myself. If anybody wanted one PM me and we can place a "bulk" order...
